Guest Anonymous
NetMD means that you can connect the MD recorder to your computer's USB port and transfer music to it at high speed from a program like SonicStage. Non-NetMD recorders can record music from an analogue or optical connection to a stereo system, another minidisc player, or virtually anything that plays sound. Heck, there are plenty of minidisc recorders out there made to use microphones too. The advantages of NetMD are that you can transfer your music quickly to your recorder and you can enter the titles by keyboard rather than having to struggle with the menu system of the recorder letter by letter. The disadvantages are: 1) The software is all crappy. 2) You can't transfer in SP mode through NetMD (you can only use LP2 and LP4 which don't sound as good as SP). 3) Your recorder and/or the software may simply not work with your computer. mAjEsTiC
actually transfer of SP through NetMD is not possible...it isn't "true" SP but rather a "phantom LP2 track"...i.e. a higher encoded ATRAC3 format that is recognised by the unit as an SP track...i think that's the pt that NRen2k5 is trying to get at there...
