Hi

I have just bought a sony mzn 510 minidisc player. If i knew what i was getting into i may have had second thoughts.I have read almost every thread about the software with all its problems.

My main questions are

1, As i only have USB and optical link is there any other way to get my mp3 files onto my minidisc as i have all my mp3 burnt onto a dvdr (approx 70 albums on each dvdr)when i use the sonicstage software it will not reconise my dvdr disc

2,Can i put my dvdr disc in my home dvd/PS2 player and then connect by the optical link to get it to my player.

I have looked atlots of software but they all seem to have to link through the cable as appose to optical/USB.Are there any programs that i can use with my USB/optical link.

Thanks for the advice

just adding on to what NRen2k5 was saying above...so long as your DVD player can read DVD-R's then it shouldn't b a problem i wouldn't think (since i know that DVD players can read mp3 CD's...but not too sure about mp3 DVD's...)...PS2 i can't say since you have a modded unit to read burnt CD's/DVD's...

I know that my dvd player does support mp3 dvdr as i use it to play but i did not realize that i could transfer to minidisc that way. What type of transfer speed can i expect. Will it be only in realtime Ie 1x ?

Sonic stage may not recognize you DVD drive as a Music disc, but it will recognize it as a drive containing data.

Click "Import" then choose the DVD drive with the DVDr in it. that should work, you'll need to keep the DVDr handy tho- Sonic stage doesn't COPY the files unless you tell it to, it just notes where MP3's are located then converts them on the fly when you check them out.

No need to trnasfer them optically (1x)
