Guest Anonymous
Hi everyone, Could someone please recommend an MD recorder with a mic jack? My budget is between $100-$150 US. Brand isn't important--I'd just like to listen to music, and record my lectures (having said that, the ability to transfer from the recorder to my computer in MP3 format would be quite nice too) Thanks! mAjEsTiC
basically all of the ones from Sharp utilise a mic in jack...they have quite a lot of models and having the DR420 and DR580 as the newest offerings from Sharp and feature NetMD capability...Sony units that have a mic in jack start from the N710 unit upwards...the ability to transfer from MD -> PC is something that is not possible using NetMD (faster than real-time using a USB cable) because this feature was not implemented in the NetMD standard and if you do want to do this then you have to do it using analogue cables and in real-time... Guest Anonymous
Thanks mAjEsTiC I think I'll look into the Sharp recorders then. NetMD going only one way shouldn't be all *too* bad, since I don't have that many beefy lectures that warrant recording a day (like 100 mins worth) Again, forgive my lack of knowledge, but would all players come with the analog cable you mentioned? mAjEsTiC
from what i've seen i don't think they do...most of the portable recording units that i have bought come with only an optic TOSLink cable (square -> circle miniplug) and not much else...these analogue cables are relatively cheap though since you can go into basically any electronic store and ask to buy a two ended 3.5mm stereo cable...
