Best non-net MD player/recorder?

Hey everyone, after browsing the forums I can't come up with an answer so I thought I'd just ask.

I'm just after a basic recorder/player, not bothered about the net stuff or even a remote since I don't bother to use one even when it's there..

So I'm after recommendations for build quality, button layout, playback and recording quality and of course, good looks biggrin.gif . Especially since I accidentally ended up with a Sharp MT80 the last time and hated the external battery casing (had to return a faulty player to a 2nd hand shop and that was the only thing they could replace it with).

Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers smile.gif

Well you could get a NetMD but you wouldnt have to use its USB functions to transfer music from the computer. You could just record in high quality SP from your HiFi. Everything these days are NetMD stuff so you do not have much options...

A non-NetMD Sony that I can recommend to you is the MZ-G755. It also comes with its own internal rechargable batter so it is small. And it is also pretty light weighing in around 120g.

If you really want a Sharp go for the DR-480 which has a 1-bit digital amp...

Those are the two best ones but live recording wise ppl say Sharp kicks Sony butt... But i always go for Sony because of its distribution and support... you can find a sony service center just about anywhere in Turkey and Europe...

That's actually the one I bought and had to exchange, which I did quite like (for the rechargable battery like you said and the radio tuner). Just thought there might be something better that I'd missed..

Thanks for that, I'll probably just buy another one of those then. I would buy a net-MD, but it seems silly to pay the extra for functions I'm not bothered about.

I would also take a look at the Sharp DR480 if I were you... It has a much higher sound output compared to the Sony and it has that digital amp... It should give better quality sound compared to the G755.

Go to the store and check em up close. thats what I always do smile.gif

PS: If you want to get a NetMD I highly recommend the Sony N910 or the Sharp DR8...
