Guest Anonymous
Is there any way at all to have a mic input on the NE410? I got it home, messed with it for five days, then realized I need the mic input.Perhaps a mic to USB converter, or even a kit that makes me open the case and put one in. I need this desparatley, or else I would not be writing now. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
BerkY
Havent heard of such a kit... you might be out of luck. Cant you exchange the unit for a NetMD unit like an N510 or N710... Cos that seems to be the only solutiton to me. Cheers BerkY PS: Sorry did not help too much

Guest Anonymous
I need a hack that allows me to install a line in jack on my NE410. I rwalize that this is an entry-level device, and I should have looked at that before I went and spent 100 bucks on it, but I am the impulse-buyer of the year, and I didn't. I now have a minidisc recorder that I need a PC to use. I need a line in jack, but I want to keep my USB. Any developers listening, if you can make one, I will be your first buyer. It just needs to be affordable, more worthwhile than returning and buying the one with a line in. Thank you for letting me rephrase my question Steven Wood

Christopher
Can't happen, because it's beyond the limitations of the hardware inside the device. You have to make sure you research what you're buying before you buy it so you know exactly what you're getting. I see alot of people referring to the 410 as a horrid device, and the only reason people are dissatisfied is people buy blindly!
xj_ruler
Listen, when I bought it, it was all I needed. But, after using it for a while, I realized that it was missing something. The machine works fine, does everything I need and more. But, a mic input would be nice. I am sick and tired of groups that shun people who buy products that the individual or outspoken minority does not like. After living with the 410 for several weeks, the machine has recieved only one flaw in my mind. no Fuckin' Mic! Other than that, it is a wonderful product. Thanks anyway Steven Wood
BerkY
Well its good that you enjoy your purchase after all it is you that bought the product. We dont really care what you buy or what you do with it. We just try to help you solve your problems and answere yuor questions. As for mic in, its literally impossible... So you will have sell it and buy a Sony N710 (tho the euro model has a crappy 2 x 1.2mW output) or Sharp DR420 or something like that... The live recording of sharp's are more user friendly from what I have heard tho... Cheers BerkY
JeffS
ebay the 410, or keep it around as just a player. If you're looking to go inexpensive, pickup the 510 (next model up) it doesn't have a mic input, but it does have line in. The line in works great with a battery powered mic. I assume if you're doing heavy recording you'll be using a mic that wants a bit more juice than just the plugin power. good luck -Jeff
xj_ruler
Thank you for setting me straight on the input.
