my 707 has the exact same problem and i can only hear out of the headphones if i press down on the jack. my warranty is also expired...sad.gif

anyone know how to fix this problem?

another quick question. when did stores stop selling brand new N707's? (ie. when did they become discontinued?)

thanks a lot.

I wonder what will happen to my N910 in a couple of years time... heh... Well maybe you could try fixing the headphones in the jack by shoving in the jack with a very small piece of paper or maybe an aluminium foil (put the paper/foil where it doesnt touch the connections between the jack and the headphone connection. However, you will have to be very careful as not to let the paper/foil get to deep in the jack. It will just fix the headphone in the jack so it doesnt move out of its place and thus cut the sound. but the again if the problem is not related to the headphone jack not insulating the headphone properly then i dont know how it can be solved "quickly"... you might actually need to get the part replaced.

Btw I take no responsibility if anything happens to your N707. Just suggesting a solution before getting the part replaced.

cheers

The best (being the easiest) fix I found was to cut out an "ear plug" (to reduce noise from the outside. Avail in the drugstores and not to be confused with some earphones wink.gif) to put inside your unit.

With a bit of trial and errors, you'll find the best place to put it then you close your unit. That's it, it should work for at least a while smile.gif

Beware, I don't know if it is what caused a problem with my unit.

I hope this fix doesn't come too late wink.gif
