CD Copy Control

Drinking Alone

Hi,

I see that there has been some stuff posted on this already but I have another question.

I have a Sony MD MZ-R410 and record from a Sony BHX3 stereo using an optical cable. A few of the CD's I have bought recently have the CD Copy Control and won't record to MD for me. Some discs just record the first few seconds of the song, some record the last few seconds. Is there any way of gettign around the Copy Control using what I have. I know you can use some work arounds using a PC but I don't have a PC that I can burn with at the moment. Any ideas?

Thanx

Well you wont have to burn... You can use LAME or another program to rip the original music CD (I use Creative Playcenter 3.0) in to wav or mp3 (make sure its high quality 320kbits) and then use sonicstage to import them into sonicstage. Then all you have to do is transfer them or "check them out" to your NetMD. Simple as that...

Woops I thought you were using the NE410... Havent heard of the R410... SO it doesnt have a USB connection... hmm gets trickier... Dunno if you can get around the copy control without a PC.

The only way seems to use an old CD player with a optical out. that way it wont actually read the copy control as it wont know what it is smile.gif But it would be cheaper for you to get a burner for the PC these days smile.gif
