MP3 to Net MD problems

I have a Net MD Walkman MZ-NE410. I bought this unit because I would like to transfer some MP3 files from my computer to the unit. The problem I am having is that the software that came with the unit says that the files are incompatible with the unit. It said something about the MP3 files being at the wrong bit rate.

Finally, the question. Is there any way to change the bit rate of the MP3 files? I am not the person recording the MP3 files, I receive the files by email.

Well the bitrate has to be higher than 128kbits and at 44.1 Khz (no matter the bitrate).

You can change the bitrate. First you would have to convert the file to WAV and then change it back to 128kbits MP3. You will need an MP3 encoder program like LAME. I use Creative's own program which does the job...

cheers
