Guest Anonymous Posted December 18, 2003 Report Share Posted December 18, 2003 Heyas, I just purchased a N910 which is in the mail (hehe) and I wanted to be 'prepared' when it gets here so I downloaded Simple Burner. After installing it I tried to run it but I was greeted with an error. I re-installed, re-downloaded from different sources and it still comes up with an exception. I run Windows XP, can someone give me a link to a known working Simple Burner? And with SonicStage, the 'music drive' that the files are sent too, can that be found/accessed easily? I don't want to overload my computer with files that get sent there and just take up space. Do people delete them after transfering them to the NetMD? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. mAjEsTiC Posted December 18, 2003 Report Share Posted December 18, 2003 you need to install SonicStage/OpenMG for SimpleBurner to work...they all rely on the same software "engine"...that and install the NetMD drivers and you should be good to go... The only problem this may create is if you wish to retransfer the songs to MD. It is faster if you keep the omg files on your HD as you dont have to convert the file a second time. Some people report that deleting the files will create problems in the database Sony uses to keep track of a songs total number of check in/outs but I have yet to experience any such problem. The software will put those files in different places depending on what operating system you use. Just do a search for .omg files and you'll find the directory soon enough. mAjEsTiC Posted December 19, 2003 Report Share Posted December 19, 2003 you can find where the OpenMG/SonicStage puts the .omg files : For SonicStage : by just clicking on the Menu button on the bottom left then go to Options...from there there should be an option on the left box called Location to save the recorded files...clicking on that will show you where SonicStage puts them....just copy and paste that directory into Windows Explorer and go to that directory and delete all the .omg files there... For OpenMG : this is a similar method since OpenMG and SonicStage are essentially the same program just with a different GUI (though OpenMG 2.2 and SonicStage 1.2 look exactly alike...) Go to the menu on the top bar called Tools then Options the from there a box will pop up with a few tabs on the top...clicking on the one named CD Recording/Playing 1 and going about 1/2 down the screen you will see an option called Settings for CD Recording and below that a box where it tells you the Location to save the recorded file...copy and paste this in Windows Explorer to open up the directory and delete the .omg files... You could also just transfer a track with SS/OMG and then use Windows search to find all .omg files or files with the name of whatever mp3 you transferred.
