Guest Anonymous Posted December 23, 2003 Report Share Posted December 23, 2003 As far as hacking your model, that has nothing to do with netmd...take a look at the Tips and Tricks section, it's probably listed as N707 hack although I think it works on the 505 too. Last I checked, the hack won't let you do all that much...basically gives you a line-out option, an alaram, and a bunch of other options that you can't actually use. I don't have an N505, so don't take my word for it...I believe you have to have an LCD remote to access some of the features, or maybe that's just the Rxxx models. Either way, it's all on Tips and Tricks, go check it out. If there is any news on hacking any of Sony's proprietary crap, I'm not aware of it. I'd say it's unlikely that anyone will ever figure out ATRAC (the SP mode stuff) because Sony has like a zillion safeguards, although I keep hoping that someone will crack ATRAC3 (LP2 and LP4 modes) because the codecs and such are much more readily available. Someone's gotta be working on it...although I'd much rather see someone hack NetMD software than figure out the compression algorhythms.
