cregan98
Thank you in advance to who can fix this weird problem. I have been able to record from my computer to my mini-disk player (sony MZ-N707) but I tried it the other night to add one song to a disk I had done before and it totally wiped all the songs out. I then tried to put some songs back on there and it seems like its recording and while its transfering the song to the MD it pops up messages like Data Save and TOC Edit, which supposedly means thats its actually recording. So then I try to listen to the songs after its done transfering and it displays on the window BLANKDISK. I am using OpenMG Jukebox to transfer the songs from my computer to the MD player. I have a few other disks that I created a while ago and I put them in and they play so I know its working I just am confused on why it wont record.... how do I check to make sure the USB is working correctly? PLEASE HELP! I am getting VERY frustrated with this thing. Thank you in advance! Chris
Viper_A
I've also had this problem for a month or more now. I bought mine from eBay it's a US model with the LCD-less remote. At first I only knew that it couldn't record. But after recording a track at the end of the disc, the whole disc was wiped out. I uh, also had this problem with my 5-year old MZ-R50 (GGRRREEEAAAAATTT model, btw). But my R50 had less problems (although it couldn't write, it REALLY didn't write because it didn't wipe out the discs). But with my N707 now, not only could it not edit, it wipes out the whole disc. Hmm... Nobody seems to have replied to this thread yet for a week now... The worst I fear is to bring it to the repair center. Because my experience with my R50 is that i had to pay almost $200 for repairs. And it broke again 3-4 months after the repair. That price is the reason I bought the N707. And I CANNOT afford to buy another again (if that's the repair price). omigosh huhuhuhuh
WES2201
Hi,I know this is a really old thread, but by any chance did you ever manage to solve this problem as I am experiencing the exact same thing. Although, my MD wont record from it's own internal CD either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many ThanksJ

Strungup
the 707 is somewhat know for issues , the R50 that was mentioned only very RARELY had issues , it was built like a tank, but it was not a NET MD if you can find an N1 in good shape even though it is older than the 707 , if it is in good shape you will see the difference.the 707 record head , an lead cable to the head is the problem , not the usb cable.
