Guest Anonymous
Hello- I am looking to find a minidisc recorder for my brother, as a gift.. I have one myself, a Sony MZ-R37, which i am happy with, except that it doesn't have a digital out.. We use it for recording music lessons as well as recording ourselves practicing, so transfering this to another format is very useful. I will list the features i am looking along with the necessity of the feature. If there is one with all these features that would be best, but the last two are not absolutly necessary. Digital In & Digital Out: Needed Mic. In: Needed Electric Line In: Needed Must be a portable size; can fit in one's pocket Abilty to recharge batteries through a dc in: Desired Mp3 playable: Desired Thanks alot- Ben www.drums-anya.com
usuario_usable
Hello, Ben: I believe you can´t transfer music digitally from MD to PC. But today I´ve read that there is a machine wich cans do it: http://www.xitel.com/product_mdpio.htm Any case, it´s better if you wait for somebody who knows more than me about these themes Sorry for my bad english!!! Greetings.
mAjEsTiC
that device will NOT allow you to transfer digitally from MD -> PC...i think if u absolutely need this then u're better off getting a deck with optical inputs and outputs...the only portable MD recorder i've seen with an optical output is the Sony MZ-R1 (the very 1st MD model released by Sony in '93)...i haven't seen a unit with one ever since... Guest Anonymous
I had no idea that there were so few portable md recorders w/ a digital out.. seems to me it would be useful. Oh well.. In that case, could you recommend any good md recorders with the same specs i had placed previouly? Take away the digital out, of course. There seems to be quite a number on the market, and with my limited knowledge, i'd love to be pointed in the direction of a quality one. Thanks again for your help- Ben
mAjEsTiC
in that case i would suggest that you take a look at the Sharp DR420 or DR580 (if u can stretch the budget)...these 2 models should keep u happy for years to come...=) they have all the features that you desire... JayX
i saw usuario spammed that link in practically every thread so thought i'd click it finally.... are they having a joke or something?! $70 for a piece of plastic crap that doesn't actually do ANYTHING you can't do with your minidisc from out of the box! i feel sorry for anyone who actually buys one. looks like its packaged like its worth $20 too. quality
mAjEsTiC
that unit basically just creates an easier connection to the PC for users without the luxury of having an optical output from their s/c...that and it also has ports for u/l to the PC via analogue cables...it's just a device that makes things easier to d/l and u/l to the PC without having that many cables lying around...
