Guest Anonymous
I'm in the market for a reliable minidisc recorder. I've been looking at sony's stuff (particularly the n10) and would go for it in a second if it weren't for all of the bad stuff I keep reading about sony's models. Apparently a lot of people are having a lot of the same major problems (the blank disc problem, losing recording capability) and sony doesn't seem concerned. I'd go sharp, 'cept I bought a stereo system from them a few years ago that broke down prematurely. I guess my question is: Can I trust sony? Can I trust sharp? Is there another reliable company in the MD business? Or am I going to have to take a chance? Any and all of your opinions, recommendations, and/or experiences will be welcome. Thanks so much. Guest Anonymous
I have a N10 and i love it and have had ZERO problems with it, however the only thing to bare in mind is that Net MDs cannot upload to computers via USB therefore any recording you do with a microphone has to be uploaded the analogue way in REAL time. mAjEsTiC
i would suggest that u take a look at the new Sharp DR580 unit...it looks like a very model...i also own the N10 and so far it hasn't run into any problems but i did own an N1 that stopped recording for some odd reason...it's all fixed now but it was wierd that it just broke down for no apparent reason...on a whole u can trust these big companies as they try and make the units as best they can...though sometimes faults do appear in some of the models...but there are quite a lot of ppl who havn't encountered anything bad on their units as yet...so IMO it's a safe bet to trust Sony and Sharp... Guest Anonymous
a used sharp may be your best bet-they can be had for under $100, and are very well built with couple of unique exceptions. check the gear list at this site before you buy. caveat emptor with anything you don't research yourself
