CarbonLogic
A new version of RealPlayer has been released and is available here http://www.real.com Worth the download if you want a user friendly interface to manage your Net MD file transfers. Much easier to use than SonicStage and a significant improvement over the previous version of RealPlayer. You only need to install the free version of RealPlayer 10 and then download and install the minidisc plugin. Once you've installed RealPlayer 10 you can delete SonicStage and forget all about Sony's DRM forever. RealPlayer 10 is a good example of what SonicStage should have been if only Sony knew how to write user friendly software CL
tekdroid
you know something's wrong with the world when a Real solution is preferred over another

FlipFantastic
Can you create groups now with the new RP 10? I do not think you could with the old one and thus had to keep SonicStage around for maintenance type features like that. I'm at work so i cant experiment until later :/
Guest Anonymous
you can also use simple burner to create and maintain groups as well as the minidisc recorder itself. I liked simple burner better as it was more stable. i will try to transfer some tunes when i get home using rp10 and post here if am able to get groups going, if not you know the answer. mojo1287
No group functions. I actually prefer sonicstage now, it's not as bad as people often say. But RP is definitely better than MGJukebox or whatever came with my old N1
FlipFantastic
too bad, i'll continue to use SS then as well. What i usually do is create a folder with the mp3s i want, import it into SS, copy it to my player through SS then delete the playlist from SS, thus keeping SS empty all the time but for when i'm swapping in and out playlists. This method keeps me from worrying about the transfer limit per song and keeps me from having to import all my mp3s into SS, saving valuable space on my comp. Life would become easier is Sony gave MusicMatch liscence for MD's to work through MM since i purchased MM and all future updates a couple years ago and i use it as my main media player. Heres hoping -FF
Skagen
Sonic stage is in some ways poorly designed and just inadequate. But not inadequate enough for me to knowingly put spyware on my own PC - yep any software by RealPlayer is pretty much spyware...
calvosindiente
Sonic stage is in some ways poorly designed and just inadequate. But not inadequate enough for me to knowingly put spyware on my own PC - yep any software by RealPlayer is pretty much spyware...I use AdAware to get rid of malware, spyware and the sort. It doesn't seem to care about RealPlayer/RealOne... so I did some searching on the net. I found some places where it says that it IS spyware!. But then, why doesn't AdAware do anything?? I understand that AdAware is an excellent application to do what it does. I also read that the newer versions do not have spyware. (http://www.psychologyofvision.net/ubb/Forum9/HTML/000044.html) How can we know the truth for sure? (the MD plugin for RealOne Player is pretty good, although I prefer to use SimpleBurner coupled with M3U2SB and Daemon Tools... works great for me!)
