edwinx
Hi, (i'm not trolling) what are the advantages of MD over mp3 players if mostly used just for playing music? sound quality? portability?
PDOG58
A lot of people say that the removable media is what makes MD less efective than MP3s, but seriously, who is going to listen to more than 1 GB of music at a time? Is ti really that hard to switch a disk? Personally, I think removable media is what maked MD so great. If you lose a disk that has 8 hours worth of music on a disc that cost you $7, oh well! if you lose 12 hours worth of music on an MP3 player that cost you $300, BIG OOPS! edwinx
I think the main advantage of mp3 players is the fact that they use a common file format with the PC. no need to re-encode to another format or record in real time or anything. if it was reversed. like sony made mp3 recorders/players and the ipod was based on ATRAC, the sony unit will be more popular even if we kept the designs the same now.
