snakeye
I am knew to the forums and already did a search for similar problems here, but didnt find much. I recently reinstalled Windows on my PC. Trying to install SonicStage now, although installation completes find, when I plug my NETMD in the USB cable, I see a brief msg from Windows: "New USB device found" and followed by "Unknown Device". Needless to say, i cant access my MD and SonicStage doesnt "see" it. I have tried rebooting, reinstalling and the such to no avail. Can anybody please help? Any suggestions? The model is: MZ-N910. Thanks in advance.

snakeye
just install the NetMD drivers again without the unit being plugged in...then once done open up SonicStage and plug the unit in...this usually works for me...I have tried that. In fact... I tried it in three different computers that never had the Net MD drivers installed on it. Result is the same. As soon as I plug in the MD afterwards, it recognises that a USB device was inserted, yet it says "USB device not recognised". All three PCs have given the same result. I looked under the manual's troubleshooting section and it said that if I get a "Unknown Device found" to go to the System Device Manager and update the Drivers. Did that but still it says "Unknown Device found"

snakeye
that's odd....did u try to install the drivers when it prompted (as in after it says Unknown device found and search for drivers box pops up??)Thats the thing. I have windowsXP and it doesnt prompt you to install drivers. I also cannot see it directly under the Hardware Device manager. Only way I can see it is under the properties of the USB hub. I tried to point it at the NetDriver drivers but it wont accept them! The odd thing is I was using it before. But all of a sudden it stopped working! But it doesnt quite say Unknown Device. It says device NOT RECOGNIZED. This leads me to believe that there might be something wrong with the USB aspect of the MD, but I cant figure what and how to reset it.
