is there a portable recorder out there with these features STILL IN PRODUCTION?

i know 2 which our OUT OF PRODUCTION: Sharp MD-MS722 or Kenwood DMC-K7R

nope nothing recent...i think they're the only models that had the unique slot in mechanism...very old unit the MS722...i have one lying around but it's gone bust.... :cry:

Check Ebay--there's usually a '702 there for a reasonable price. I have one myself, but I still really really like it and am torn whether or not to sell it. They're really nice; built like a tank.
