mAjEsTiC
heyy there, firstly u install the NetMD driver along with SonicStage program from that CD that they gave u with the unit...then once that's done connect the USB cable to the PC and MD unit (should be a small plastic/rubber cover on the side of the NetMD unit which shows u the USB symbol)...the cable goes in one way only so u'll know which way it goes...then basically open up SonicStage and Import the mp3 files that u have into the program then transfer them across to ur MD...that's just the basics of it..try and muck around with the software and if u're really stuck email me and i'll see if i can make a simple pictorial or something for u... Guest Anonymous
NetMD protocol currently doesn't allow for copying music from MD->PC, so unless your MD unit has an Optical *Out*, you'll have to do an analog transfer with the heaphone-out or line-out if there is one. onlykaria
There ARE programs that will help you do that. just look thorough the old topics in the forum. i know there is at least one out there. i dont think the program is free. sony has gone through much trouble to stop this possiblity, but like they say where there is a will there is a way. your best the is to google it, until you find something. i will kept my eyes over for it. and post a link here when i find it again. onlykaria
ok i found this link for you. i dont know much about the dealer or even the program, but it is evidence that it can be done, so that you can look for other ways on your own http://www.minidiscaccess.com/item.html?PRID=1371035
mAjEsTiC
or u can try taking a look here for more info about MD -> PC transfers and how it can be done (by using that program)...
Guest Anonymous
Unfortunately with old stlyle MD's realtime is the only option, even with adapters. Can't wait for new generation that will allow high speed uploads from what was recorded on mic/line inputs., see if u can sell what you have, and get one of the new units when they come out, I think they'll be the cat's meow. ttfn Bob
Fetusborg
thanks for all the replys. i will use them but i thought it was simpler? i thought it was just connect a cable from the headphones output to the soundcard on the pc (or something like that) you think ill actually have to buy a device? theres no simple, easy way to do it?? im not too worried about digital or analog quality. i basically just wanna get it on the pc... so i burn to cd and let my band mates hear all the fucked up shit they are doing haha. thanks again
Guest Anonymous
You do not need any additional device. You need just to connect the MD headphone out to the line-in or mic-in at the PC. Then you need some recording application. There a lot available, some even free (audacity), others are included e.g. with Nero (Nero Wavedit). Then you could also use my app Win NMD which specially developed for recording from NetMD as it uses the track info to separate the tracks and to control the MD player. So this would be the most convenient method I think. You can check out the link at the bottom of this post for more info about my app.
