Guest Anonymous
Hi I bought a nz710 3 days ago on the strength of friend and mag. review. I didn't know at the time about european players being volume capped. I do now. My question is will the sony centre i bought it from take it back as i cant hear it on the bus!!!!? what do you guys think. i read a post where someone bought one from amazon and sent it back and got his refund no problem. Another question. can you guys recommend another player in the 140-160gbp range which has quality sound and is not capped. any brand. Christopher
If you employ an European 710 it is most likely "capped" to only 1.2mW. This is very poor. I would suggest you seek the Sharp DR420/410/400: http://minidisc.org/part_Sharp_IM-DR400+DR...R410+DR420.html It is within your price range, delivers sound [8mW ] that is unmatched compared to the 710 [the DR400/410/420 has a nice digital amp as well], has 50x NetMD, excellent recording features and much more. I think that would be an excellent alternative to what you're currently employing.. ..unless of course you're interested in Hi-MD. p.s. Christopher
Your welcome. There are many other choices as well, but the Sharp seems to be the best bang for the buck at 99 pounds. Also, you may be interested in the newest version of Minidisc called "Hi-MD". Are you familiar with it?
skim100
i wasnt familiar with it before i looked on these forums. Sounds very interesting. i am wondering if it is worthwhile waiting and investing in one of the hi-md. i am just concerned about the price. there is some good kit available at good prices just now with some quality specs and accesories. i would rather have a quality bundle than an himd wiht diddly squat. mAjEsTiC
from wot i've heard the pricing of the newer Hi-MD units will be similar to that of current units...so IMO it would be worth the wait since it's only like a few months away from being released...
