11210
Thanks for the links. I just bought the N707. I would like to get a different remote for it. Which one should I get for it? I've read that people like the 11EL but should I get a different one? Thanks
actorlife
Basically they are both the same, 33 has a feature or 2 more and is thinner than the 11. I'd say go for the 33, which by the way comes with the Sony N10. The Sony N707  was my second MD unit and i still use it. Make sure you get good earbuds Sharp HP-MD33-S/4 poles earbuds (A+) or Sony MDR-EX71SL (B+) are highly recommened. Which can be bought on amazon.com (Sony only) or (both) audiocubes.com Any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
11210
Thanks for the info. On the earphones what is the difference between the EX71SL and the EX71LP? Or is there not a difference? I too love my n707. Thanks
actorlife
EX71SL (long cord) and the EX71LP (short cord) that's the only difference the sound is the same. If you're willing to get earbuds go for the Sharp HP-MD33 4 poles they are excellent (you'll hear things on your music that you've never heard before, trust me). Get them on www.Audiocubes.com under earphones

mAjEsTiC
this may be a bit late but the 33EL remote works on the N707 but some of the buttons don't do what it's suppose to...since the remote is newer than the N707 unit the config has been remapped and the buttons such as the group fwd and group back buttons don't work on ur unit...most of the others do work however...but it might get a little taking used to using the remote since some of the buttons have been remapped... 11210
Thanks for that advice mAjEsTiC. It isn't too late yet. So, which remote would you suggest that I get? Would you still get the 33EL or would you go for something like the 11EL? Thanks
actorlife
hmmm oh really  , i'll try it today and let you know. EDIT: Ok everything seems to work except the group function, which i never use anyway, if that's important to you get the 11. Do you use it much? GUYS? mAjEsTiC
the 11EL / 12ELK remotes were built for the N1/707/505 series of units so it would work perfectly on it...i would get the 11 over the 12 as the 11 has nice smooth scrolling of the title and a nicer font than that of the 12..plus the 12's scrolling is shocking...very jerky...think something like on the front of the N1 unit...ther 33EL /35ELK remotes are meant for the newer units...they are backward compatible with the 1st generation of NetMD's but some features of the remote can't be used properly such as the group...and in my case i found it a little wierd to use at first and took a while getting used to since i've been using the 11EL since my E900 unit...i would get the 11EL it's cheap and it works fine with the unit without getting to remember which button works on the remote and which doesn't with ur unit... and i use the group quite a bit as i like my music kinda organised into groups...i got into the habit of this when i got my iPod...
