lanz
I have managed to transfer a album to my net md. But when i want to try and transfer the exact same album over again i get the following error "Cannot convert the specified track. SonicStage does not support the file format of the track." I havnt changed any software or anything. all the settings are the same. but now i have found out i am unable to transfer basiclly any album. or a select few tracks. all the same bit rate information etc. has anyone else had this problem or have any solutions? i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. even using SS 2 but i am still receiving the same problem. tx

JefLeppard
I have the SAME problem, and I have tried RealPlayer v10. I used to have great success with RP v10, but I started to get a 7% transfer error (the transfer would stop after 7%). So I uninstalled everything...RealPlayer, SonicStage, OpenMG, etc....anything that Sony would have ever touched. I also deleted all registry keys associationed with any of these programs. Deleted the directories, uninstalled drivers. Installed SonicStage 2.0 hoping for success, but I now cannot convert any files. MP3's and Wav's will not convert to any ATRAC format. This happens through the "Transfer" button or the convert option in the menu. No matter what, I get the following error: "Cannot convert the specified track. SonicStage does not support the file format of the track." This seems like a software issue, not hardware. I've tried everything I know, but nothing has helped. I have searched this forum and others extensively, but I have found nothing. Anyone? I am about to discard this thing and get a MP3 player (when I $ave up enough money ). Yours truly, Jef Leppard ______________________________________________ UPDATE!!! I don't want to jinx it, but everything is working fine now. The only thing that I did was set SonicStage to the default player for mp3 and wav. I generally don't like programs taking over file associations, but I guess I can let this one slide if it lets me make music portable. Maybe this will help someone. Oh, and thanks for all the pointers I have received on this great board!
