briantreanor
Can SonicStage convert MP3 to ATRAC without downloading to MD? Say I have 1000 songs saved as MP3, can I use SonicStage to convert them ALL to ATRAC, walk away from the computer or a few minuets/hours/days and come back to a reformatted music list? Or, do I have to convert each song by recording it to the MD player and then resaving it to the computer as ATRAC? Brian
PDOG58
I have a lot of .wav files of stuff I have recorded off the radio burnt onto a CD to save space on my computer. I want to bring them back onto my computer in ATRAC3plus format in preperation for when hi-MD is released. But, I cant find a feature in SonicStage to convert files. I know you can take existing files on the hard drive that are in MP3 or WAV and creat an album, but to the best of my knowledge it does not actually CONVERT them to ATRAC. Am I missing something? Can I convert the WAV files on my CD to ATRAC on the computer?
Christopher
Hello you two. I have merged this thread together since it essentially asks the same question. I have also moved it to NetMD.
jadeclaw
Yes, you can. Select Import Files over the left button. There it is possible to load the files into an Album. After that, you can do a 'Convert Format'. Select Atrac3plus 256k to get the highest soundquality. Everything below 132k is not recommended, except for Audio books(speech). Note: It still says MP3 under 'Format' in the Tracklist.
PDOG58
Thanks for the help Jade. It's gonna suck now that I have to convert 70 WAV files, but oh well. On a note for others: what I did was, after I converted the WAV files into ATRAC format, i went into My Library and deleted the WAV files and REimported the OMG files so the program recognized they were ATRAC just to keep it clean. jadeclaw
70 files. Is that all? I've imported 378 mp3-files into a single album and hit convert. Result: 212 files were converted, then possibly I hit a bug. One of the DLL-files crashed. And it keeps crashing, when I try to encode any track above tracknumber 212. So, just for safety, stay below that number in an Album. Oh, did I say, it takes almost forever to convert these?
