kevs
People are always predicting the demise of mini disc. I thought actually it might abate a bit after Sony just made Connect site with mini disc as it's featured product to download, buy just yesterday, a tech support guy with major electronics firm (non sony), said that he's hearing on the grapevine that Sony is not supplying part for their players and will end making mini disc. anyone hear anything? Christopher
If they were to end supply and support for MD players, they would most likely put those resources towards the Hi-MD players.
kevs
Geez when I see hi-md, I still think md. What is that a whole nother world or something?
Christopher
I believe it to be - the features within Hi-MD are a world beyond the current capabilities of the current MD format. Don't you agree?
Damage
Well, considering that no more pure MD recorders are coming out (that is, all of the MD recorder units are HiMD units), that non-sony electronics dude would be partially correct. In fact, the only pure MD units that's coming out now are NetMD only downloaders, right? That still doesn't stop other mfgs. from making pure MD units however, and there's that Qualia MD
kevs
Is this stuff all backward compatible? In other words, will I stil be able to buy the good old fashioned 74 min md that are about 2 bucks? And the home stereo units as well?
