don2realign
I recently bought a NetMD player/recorder and in the manual it says that on LP4 you can put up to 600 song at the average of 5 min a song on one MD how is this done? Do the songs have to be in a certain format? Thanks to anyone who can help with this.
KJ_Palmer
Which model is it? It must be a misprint if it's a standard NetMD, although a Hi-MD could just about hold that sort of capacity. A standard MD can record a maximum of 320 minutes in LP4 mode - that's 64 tracks of average length 5 minutes - maybe the manual means 60 rather than 600 tracks @ 5 minutes each. There are no other options available to give extra storage...
jadeclaw
In addition, 600 would be impossible. Maximum number of tracks is 255 for Standard/NetMD. It is definitely a misprint. Sidenote: 600 x 5 min = 50 hours, more than even a Hi-MD-Disc can take.
crazeybt1
well it's possible  if the tempo ( pitch) is like amped up by 10x+ ha ha
Guest NRen2k5
Anyway, to give a more comprehensive answer... On a non-Hi-MD unit, SP allows for roughly 80 minutes of recording time. LP2 allows for roughly 160. LP4 allows for roughly 320. At 5 minutes per song, this would be equivalent to 16, 32 and 64 songs respectively. crazeybt1
i thought Jadeclaw cleared this thing up already NET MDs (unit limit) can hold a maximum of 255 tracks and 320 mins per 80 min disc at LP4 or 296 mins @ LP4 on a 74 mins disc n 240 mins @ LP4 on a 60 minute disc.. some math 320/5 =64 songs 269/5= 59 songs 240/5= 48 songs (bearing mind track pauses etc.. ) blah blah..blah.. it's not possible for NET MD to hold 600 5minute songs on 1 disc atleast  try 2 maybe where u heard that they meant 2 discs son..cuz i mean 64*64=128 songs *5mins= 640 -600= 40 mins to spear.. if this doesn't make it clear i don't know what else will... pbrstrtgang
So it's all about minutes, and not megs? I have some mp3s, 45 minutes long, that are all right around 20 megs. I can only fit 6 on a minidisc, that's 270 minutes right? Why won't it let me out in the last one? I'm in LP4.
crazeybt1
yeah it's about time.. and u can fit more than 6 45 minute songs in lp4 mood cuz the total is 320 mins remember.. i don't understand what u mean by it won't let u you out with the last one.. but none the less even if the recording was based on capacity u'd should still get all on there cuz the md is rated at 177 MB and if each track is20 megs u could 8 45 mins tracks on there (20x8=160 mins less the 177 u'd still have 17 megs left)
don2realign
The model..... Net MD Walkman MZ-NE410 MDLP My friend also bought one and his manual says the same thing his model is MZ-N420D In The manual its in the Getting Started section with the battery life info. The page is
KJ_Palmer
Yes, that's exactly it.. The figures in the manual (LP4 = 600 x 5 minute tracks, LP2 = 300 x 5 minute tracks) are battery life figures when checking out tracks, not the number of tracks you can fit on a disk. Take a look in the NE410 manual on page 14. Seems clear enough to me. As these are battery only units I guess it'd be useful to know how many tracks you can check out at a time... Christopher
I wish Sony would not sell NetMD units without an AC adapter..seriously one of the stupidest marketing moves ever. Good for the battery companies, I guess. :rasp:
Guest NRen2k5
I'm sure that you could make an AC adapter to plug across the battery compartment terminals, though.
