If you got an an MZ1 than any current MDR will better than yours for live recording :wacky: .

But regarding to what you asked (exporting), it is not 100% assured that we will be able to digitally upload to the compuetr or copy to cd our recordings.

What you can do with HI-MD right now, is upload HI-MD recordings (NOT the old SP/LP2/LP4 ones) to a sony encrypted file that will not allow you to export it to wav or burn a cd.

In fact, you cannor even play it on another computer because it is licensing based...

Hope you got what you needed.

To Matt or anyone else who might see this... I have the MZ1 but I bought the extended warranty from Tweeter that allows me to exchange it for a new model for free, I am assuming from what you said that I should do this ey? What I want to use my MD Recorder for is for 1 thing:

1. Record live music performances or demos and transfer that music to CD or Mp3.

Will the new High MD allow that?

kingofallwhites : not to a cd or mp3 i don't think...not yet...i hear that there are problems and it only uploads to the computer as sony's proprietary file which u can't really do anything with i'm afraid...but they are working on an .omg -> .wav converter i hear so it should be soon before it would be able to do what you want...
