Areq
The LCD display on main unit leaked out. I want to replace it but authorized service told that it will cost almost half of a new units price. If you know what is the part number and what company is the producer of it, please send me a message.
Bananatree
No good my friend, sounds like you'll need some good technical skills to replace that. Maybe if you call the Sony Tech again, they'll let you in on the LCD product number.
Areq
They told that it can't be replaced alone but only with the board and it costs about half of the price of a new MD.
Solid Snake
Did the LCD "die"? As far as I can remember, LCD displays don't contain "liquid" in the form we think about it, in that it can't "leak out", but the display can die after a while, because its conductivity becomes less with age... if you can explain a bit better, I may be able to help. Areq
I was hit by someone and after that the display cracked in few places and became black on 3/4 of its surface. Information is still displayed in places that aren't black. My MiniDisc is only 6 months old.

You need a new LCD, and the cheapest way to get one would be to find a unit that's broken in other ways for a low amount of money, and swap out the LCD yourself,or just get a whole new unit. Repair shops have a habit of ripping people off.
Daijoubu
You can't order the LCD alone You have to get the PCB where the LCD is on (which is usualy the front plate with the buttons) Edit: Oh shit, it's Solid Snake
Vorex
i'd look on ebay for broken units (with non-cracked lcd's ones with other problems), find one that matches yours, and try to replace what you need, and see if it works.
