teamgood
I haven't purchased a hi-md model yet. I have a sony minidisc stereo in my car that plays the MDLP 2/4. I know that the hi-mds also have LP2 as well as with the new 3+, etc. I was wondering if the LP2 recorded from hi-md players would be able to play as LP2 in MDLP players. My guess is that it wouldn't because the discs are formatted for hi-mds, but both are called LP2 so i was curious. Does anyone know or tried it out yet? thanks. The_Stamp
hi-mds can record std-MD's in 2 modes: hi-md and st-MD mode. you cannot have both modes on the same disc, but you can reformat (losing data) the disc to and from each format as much as you like. std-MD mode acts like and can be read by ANY old MD player/recorder, Hi-MD mode can only be read by hi-md players/recorders. and forget about hhi-md media. totally new technology that your std-MD player wont know what to do with it. it'll just read "HI-MD" and thats all.
