dnb_jd
Hello everyone, newbie here! I work in a Sony Dealership and was most excited at the arrival of HiMD. My first customer interested in one wants to be able to record interviews and then put them on their website as MP3's. After much trauling around your wonderful forum I have of course come to realise that Sony have stripped a great concept of its most useful features and I'm going to have to let the customer down. Shame really as he was quite a jolly chap. Anyway, now my opinion of the HiMD concept has been greatly reduced, can anyone please explain to me how on earth I can sell HiMD without telling the customers to go to a shop that sells MP3 players in true Chris Cringle style?! mmp64
For what it's worth, Sony has said that they will make a separate utility available "in the Fall" that will enable users to export anything they've uploaded from their Hi-MD as a Wav, or MP3, or whatever. There are a couple of posts about it here.
Christopher
Just to come back to this, a third party has made a wav converter and the format has been rejuvinated, or at least what it should've been. Sony UK has already recommended us..
mutant1345
when you say sony uk has recomended the forum does that mean marcs program has publicity going on with his program? and the forums are where sony is telling people to go inquiring about a converter? not that ths is bad i just think its funny.... maybe sony isnt making there converter because they know that marc has made one and they feel they have no more rush..... Christopher
There was another thread I read where someone was talking to Sony UK tech support and they mentioned minidisc.org forums. They never recommended marc's utility, but I know they're aware of it. Sony.co.jp had some bots crawling the forum last night, as well. Something is stirring.. jadeclaw
Sony.co.jp had some bots crawling the forum last night, as well. Something is stirring..I strongly suggest to put a <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"> into the forum page's header. A suitable robots text should be added as well as robots can create massive traffic... To be frank, if Sony wants to present their side of an issue, they should sign up and discuss the matter directly. @Sony: Remember, signing up is quick and easy. And it's free... Christopher
We already draw 30% of minidisc.org's 10 million hits per month. I'm not worried about the numbers, as the average for most forums that are associated with websites is 10%. We're already indexed on Google, anyways.
