Hi-MD uploading question

So I just got my NH1 and I've been playing around with it for a bit and I noticed something....I try to upload a track from a disk I just made and it shows the transfer dialogue but I have no idea where the track is uploaded to. Anyone have an idea about where the default uploading folder is? It's definitely not the "Location to save recorded files" (the optimized files folder) place in 'options' under the tools menu in SS2.

All help is appreciated

I can't say what the location should be, but the question is pretty much moot anyway - the files you've uploaded from your NH1 are encrypted in Sony's OMG format and can't be used for anything but playing in Sonicstage or putting back on your Hi-MD.

Sony has stated that they're releasing a wave convertor util so that users can take audio [recorded from analogue sources] transferred from Hi-MD to Sonicstage and use that audio in an editor of your choice. Release date so far is simply "this fall" but hopefully it will be some time this month.

You might benefit from trying out Total Recorder in the meantime.

Sonicstage 2.1 adds the ability to write CD-R or CD-RW from the SS database.  This can give you the ability to create an editable WAV file without resorting to realtime recording.

Will you stop confusing people with inaccurate information, please? Sonicstage 2.0 or 2.1 will NOT write uploaded files to Audio CD.

I am happy for you to politely correct me. It seems odd that you would make this statement for both SS 2.0 and 2.1. My point was that some things changed in 2.1. If you have tried this and are right, then I stand corrected, fine. I was indeed making an assumption based on the new capability, but have only tried it with ripped tracks, not uploaded recordings from HiMD.

The beta 2.0 allowed people to burn CD's... and the beta has been out for quite a while from the Connect site. I was using the Sonicstage 2.0 which would have been / is now bundled with the NH1, and I was also using it on a VAIO TR series.

Nothing has changed regarding the upload vs rip burning with the release of 2.1.

My my. That is truly incredible. I can't imagine why they let you make Audio CD's from other CD's you rip into SS but not make Audio CD's from recorded files you uploaded. Insane.

I suppose my confusion came from your description of a different 2.0 build (the beta you mention?) than I was using. For my part, I will stop confusing others with my erroneous assumptions. Sorry to get your dander up. I'll give you a positive karma point as penance.
