Battery questions for MZNH900 & MZNHF810

OK - some simple questions re: the above Hi-MDs (I am still trying to get my head around all the pros and cons!):

1. Is the rechargable battery in the 810 removable?

2. If no to Q1, does that mean that in about 12-18 months time I will probably experience trouble with the rechargable battery and not be able to replace it if it is not removable?

3. With the 900, can I combine the use of the rechargeable & alkaline battery to increase the hours of play or do you have to choose one or the other and not both?

4. With the 810, can I combine the use of the rechargeable & alkaline battery to increase the hours of play or do you have to choose one or the other and not both?

Thanks for your help. Sorry it is a bit wordy but battery length is quite important to me and if the 810 allows both batteries (i.e rechargeable & alkaline) to work together to get maximum life, then this would probably be better than the 900 which has the dry cell pack that you need to tack onto the bottom of the player as opposed to the 810 alkaline battery compartment is built into the player.

1. 8xx uses AAs, so "YES"!!

3. YES.

4. 8xx does not include dry cell pack attachment, and only has 1 battery compartment within the unit. choose one or both? hmmm..decisions, decisions. You figure it out!!!

9xx is the best bet for you. unless you really want the radio with the unit.

1. Is the rechargable battery in the 810 removable?

All rechargeable batteries in all MD units are technically removable. I can pull the Li-Ion out of my N10 (in fact I have done this) and the gumstick in my DS8 and R900 (and incidentally, in the NH900) is easily removable by opening a little door.

The Hi-MD 600-800 series, however, has a battery bulge and accepts AA alkaline drycells and AA formfactor rechargeables, but not both as it has only one battery receptacle.
