mrsoul
Oh Happy Day! I have been watching this one for a long time, had my gift certificates in hand for the $99.99 purchase on clearance and when I got the register, the price was $79.99! That's right folks, the Sony Net MD MZ-S1 sports model was only $79.99 at the Best Buy in Columbia, SC. Don't miss this opportunity if you are looking to get one, get there soon! Now, I won't stress when I take my Sharp DR7 on trips for listening and I can keep it safe for recording shows only. Just thought some of you might appreciate a heads-up about this find. See ya down the road. Mark J.
aeriyn
 The MZ-S1 leaves a lot to be desired in terms of sound quality to the DR7. Remember the Auvi. :rasp:
mrsoul
 Don't get me wrong, the DR7 is the recording choice for me. But I wanted something to replace my old mp3 player when I went to the gym and ran. The S1 is a solid unit for that purpose and I have been nothing but impressed with Simple Burner 2.0 software speed and ease of use. The LP4 from that Net MD was my first encounter with that bitrate and it's really not that bad for workout tunes and sport earphones. I had never recorded anything in LP4 on any unit and I just decided to try it last night. It's tolerable for workout tunes. Is there any difference if you don't use Net MD as the source? (I guess that's another topic...) Anyway, the DR7 will remain my recording unit. I just didn't feel comfortable taking that to the gymAND using it to record shows. I also have the MDX-D400 unit for transfering to my PC. I just wanted something I could take on trips and around and the S1 at $79.99 is a steal for that unit. I am very happy with the purchase. Hope that clears up any confusion about my intents for the use of the S1 and the DR7. Mark
