chenfurfur
wow just short of 24 hours?? they weren't lying huh lol. For some reason, I don't think my battery will last that long...but I haven't fully drained the battery yet from listening so I think i'm going to perform my own stress test. thanks for the info though. sdsviet
so yea i declare myself a retard. i totally did not think about pushing the bar in to keep the dock in place. the whole time i thought it just folds down and locks in place. yes the retard i am. thank goodness there's a forum like this to keep me in check. hehe
chenfurfur
oooh you know i never realized that instead of connecting your camera to your vaio for those whose cameras don't connect with the vaio (like mine)...you can just drag and drop your pictures or ANY pictures actually to the Vaio Photo folder under My Computer (when you connect the vaio to your computer). It's so easy and I'm so glad that it works this way or I wouldn't be able to transfer my photos to the Vaio Pocket. lol sorry if someone mentioned this before. If an item is listed as out of stock, call Sony DAPC direct and place your order accordingly. It should take no more than 4 weeks to get them back in-stock. .baby_dubz.
Hey guys! Came across your site while looking at reviews for the Vaio Pocket. Ordered my Pocket off eBay a few days ago for $328.58 US with shipping and insurance. It was a bit more expensive than I had expected, but that's what I get for ordering it when it's disappearing off the shelves -___-" I'm waiting in anticipation for this magnificient machine to come in the mail. Pretty excitied judging from all the posts here. One thing that I was worried about was the case. After spending so much on the player I didn't wanna splurge on a case designed specifically for the pocket. I found screen protectors at Office Depot for $5 for a pack of 12. I went over to Futureshop to look at camera bags that would fit. Saw a leather Roots one for $20 (CDN). But have to get my Pocket and see if it fits before I get it. Another thing is, when I was browsing sites to buy the Vaio Pocket, someone said there will be a "firmware hack" that will allow the Vaio Pocket to watch videos. Any confimration on that? Thanks! Looking forward to my stay here Edited September 10, 2005 by .baby_dubz.
samk64
i'm really tempted but i think i will stick to my nw-e95..but if anyone's interested, someone is selling it $250 w/ free shippinghttp://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-SONY-VAIO-40GB-POC...1QQcmdZViewItemedit: ecost also dropped price Edited September 11, 2005 by samk64
MizuRyuu
no, as far as i know, there won't be a video hack.... mostly because there isn't a large enough fan base probably....
.baby_dubz.
does any body know if the player can display Chinese characters (traditional) ? or do I have to d/l a font, if so, where? I had this problem with my old mp3 player and I didn't know where to get the font
Max Spider X
As it has been mentioned previously, this player displays the kanji characters in the Japanese language. So yeah, you could say it supports Traditional Chinese.

dakranii
FYI for all of those out there looking for a case. I have a blackberry 7100g and noticed that it was roughly the same size as the Vaio, so, naturally, I tried it out. The Vaio fits very well in the blackberry carrier, which is a black padded canvas material with a slim clip for a belt. The nice thing is, the carrier hides the screen but leaves most of the touchpad open, most importantly, the play/pause/volume buttons, so they are usuable. And the headphone jack is not impeded in any way. I don't care for the PDAir case (too big) nor the case that is put out by sony (no belt clip), so I'm going to order another blackberry case and use that (I'll cut the blackberry tag off of it). I'd post a pic, but my camera battery just died and I'm at work.Plus it's only $14.99http://www.shopblackberry.com/_blackberrya...2WB66TARND97BR5

I have had my VAIO Pocket crash only twice since last summer. My friend's iPod photo every time I use it, so it may be an isolated case. Worse come to worst, you could just start from sq one and put the backup in
wdpk
Hi. I´ve boght this cutie a few months ago, while travelling with a couple of friends, the important thing here is that i´ve made the initial upload (15 gigs) with my frined´s notebook. when I get back home and plug the device to my USB the first strange thing is that it doesn´t play the usual (you´ve succesfully connected a USB device) sound. it sounds more like an error, if I go to the remove hardware window, it only shos up my internal memory card reader, and if I go to the device manager, it shows up the following device HMP-U01 with the circle and the exclamation sign. Tryed to re install drivers, but it always shows up a message advicing that the driver is not for my windows version (XP Home Edition SP2). hope somebody can give me some help here with this issue. Once my computer detectes the device, I´ll fight not to lose all my information!!!!!!!!!
