gordond
New to the forum, so if this question has already been answered, please just re-direct me. I'm looking around for a Hi-MD hi-fi separate to go with my CD player (with optical/coaxial output). So far Sony have been (understandably) concentrating on the portable market to get a foot in the volume digital music download market. Just wondered at what point Sony may cater to laggards (but MD loyalists) like me who still rely on creating MDs straight from our audio CD player, and would like a hi-fi separate system to go with a HiMD player? This Christmas would be nice.... Any pointers to forthcoming product info, or (Sony) engineers blogs welcome.
aeriyn
Hi there. Welcome to the MDCF. Currently there is only one Hi-MD bookshelf system and zero decks. The bookshelf system is only sold in Japan at the moment, but I believe you can buy it or preorder it from some e-tailers. I dunno which. http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_LAM-X1.html That's the only non-portable Hi-MD unit in existence at this time.
AMPlitude
yuppers, shes right, i do believe that sony will eventually come out with some sort of hi-md hi-fi system, the question is simply when? and will it go mainstream enough to be obtained?
