Skit
Hi Guys! New here, but still have my trusty Sharp MD-SR50. I was thinking I should have gotten a remote for it years ago when I bought it and now having troubles finding one. But I can get my hands on a remote for a DR480, will that work with the SR50? Does anyone know where I could source a remote for the SR50? Are there any other remotes that will work with it? Cheers! Rob
Christopher
Welcome to the forums. Can you take a picture of what the remote port looks like? I can't find one on the 'net. Additionally, even if it were to fit, I imagine the functionality would be limited.
Skit
Sure. I don't believe the SR50 supported remote LCD on the remote, but the button should work which will be an advantage.

Skit
Just heard back regarding the DR480 remote. Looks like it doesn't work at all... Thanks for your help kurisu.
Fernando Olmos
The only remotes that work with the SR50/60/70/75 models is the NON-lcd silver stick-like remote, which originally came with the unit. The MT Sharp series will not work with the SR series units and neither will the IMMT NetMD 2 tone colour remotes. The plugs are 100% identical, but not the electronic signals in the remote. Bummer! Skit
Yup, but it was worth a shot *chuckle* I doubt I'll find an original one..
Fernando Olmos
You can find an original one. Sharp still sell parts, for older MD units. I suggest you contact your local Sharp authorised repair centre and ask them. You never know. They may have one lying around.
