yeah i know what u meant. I had exactly the same problem. I think mine is even worse, cuz both side were completely torn. and i no longer have that rubber thing around the housing. It deosn't really affect the noice blocking. but it does hurt ur ears a bit without them. What a stupid design from Sony, i can't believe it!oh but mine is 6 months old already. i don't think sony wil replace this, as it doesn't really affect the functionality of the phones at all

The problem seems like a rare case, i own a unit and it's very functional and reliable, never have any problems (been using it for about 2 weeks). you said it backs to working order after reset then maybe that's the solution. It depends on how frequently the case happen, if you only experienced it once then this shouldn't be a problem but if quite often then i suggest you request for a replacement since this definitely not the way the unit function

hm, i never own a A-series, but Is it possible that you have a sort or view option as Album rather than Artist. why can't SonicStage grab CD info together with album art/cover like Window Media? It searches for the CD info but then have to perform search album art seperately and when it find, it displays to a seperate small window which you can't even copy the picture from that window, ok how stupid is that??? Since it is so nice to have search by album art in the NW-S600 and S700 series (and it's really nice having album cover display in playback mode too), but it is so difficult to have those information on the music libary and eventually the player, then what's the point of having all those function. Believe it or not i have to do it manually for like 40 albums. And the stupid playlist transfer won't transfer album cover information. So i have to transfer each track with the album cover to the player and then transfer the playlist afterward. Am i doing it wrong or the software just simply dumb??

ok, i give up, just sell this one and buy new one then, i really can't live without FM

can't believe i didn't check this first before buying it (well, but couldn't help the feeling since i was so excited about the product), anyway, just got my NW-S705F delivered from Japan two days ago, really busy playing with it. OMG, this device is amazing, sound quality is superb, i was kinda worry about the size at first, but it appears that the device is rather small and has very sleeky design. Colour and material are identical to those E series so there is no surprise about it. Anyway, back to my problem. After playing it for a while i realised that the FM scan start from 70 Mhz somthing and won't go over 90 MHz (even i do manually), shit this is killing me, as i never notice and know that FM frequency from Japan are that low. I'm in Australia and the range start from 80MHz something to 108 MHz. So, now i'm really depressed, google around a lot and come across the forum and hoping that someone could give me a possitive answer about this. P.S. love sony walkman, iPod go to hell!

Mine work fine. But this happened to me before when i used sonicstag 3.4 with my MS90D. Can't remembered what i'd done, kinda do many things with it . 1. Try open SonicStage first then connect the device. 2. Try connect device then open SonicStage i know they sound stupid but sometimes it just work

i don't understand why people want drag and drop function, the SonicStage 4.1 that comes with my S700 series transfer song in original format like flash, few second for 1 song (including album art) i wonder how can drag and drop do that? second, this is mp3 player, it's not meant to play video and it's 3 lines OLED display. The album art is clear and very nice with amazing album search function that play most favourite track from the particular album while you scrolling through. i've been using both on and off noice cancelling function for 2 days now and the baterry indicate half, so i don't know the accurate number but it just so more than enough for me, go sony! yes the S700 series support all those inteligent feature and it comes with sonic stage 4.1 which improve transfer speed

Australia will release in December too, expect to be before Christmas. 2 version will be available: S705F (2GB, black/violet, 369 AUD) S706F (4GB, Black only, 439 AUD) i couldn't agree more with the fact that why can't Sony (other than Japan) provide more choice of colours, i'm so getting the Japan verson!

never use E series, but i just got my S705F today and the performance is exceptional, respond very fast, scrolling for searching is fast enough for me (love the searching by album art). Ony fast forward that a bit slow in my opinion(only playback mode) in stop mode, it skip rather fast. Hope this help
