    chinese. Speakers OR Headphones?
  3. check this out. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...6lr%3D%26sa%3DN
  4. the 700dj are definitely stylish, have deep bass and good power handling. some people seem to have problems with the swivel mechanism breaking, but if you're not a dj and don't use that motion alot then i don't think it would be a problem. here's a link you might find interesting: Minidisc Canada if you are intent on sticking with sony headphones, i would recommend MDR-7506 you can also google Sony MDR-V6, which are nearly identical and use the same drivers. these headphones have been very popular within the broadcasting/recording industry. they are light, foldable/portable, durable/reliable, and have a good sound. also they work well with portable audio devices. many US online retailers sell MDR-7506 and MDR-V6 for under $100USD. i own the V6 and love them. ordered from US cheap, but got hit with duties from canada customs that drove the cost to about $180CAD, but that was also back when the exchange rate really sucked. well.. good luck with your headphone search!
  5. hmm... i don't think they would use anything other than a standard 1/8'' headphone jack. based on the specs on sonystyle.ca they both have headphone jacks apparently, although it doesn't specify what type. using some weird type of jack that doesn't allow people to use their favorite pair of phones would be an odd move. the price difference between the models in question is definitely due storage capacity and different earphone models that come with the unit.
  6. i feel like there will be a new Connect Player because the new Portable Reader is supposed to be using it.
  7. I have SoundForge 8. it doesn't open atrac files, but can handle pretty much any other audio file format. kinda weird since it's 'SONY' soundforge... it does have an 'Export to NetMD' function though, and has all the functionality you could possibly want. i especially like the 'Batch Converter' tool.
  8. Today I installed CONNECT Player, using the Manual Insallation technique i found in the forum. I don't have a new network walkman, but i wanted to test the software out. things i have found: tinyhttp.exe is not so 'tiny' when it comes to my system resources, at one point reaching 255MB+ importing files into the library is ver very slow, i gave up before finishing... the library database appears to be kept in: E:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Corporation\CONNECT Player\Library\0 the library 'main database file' seems to be: c2Library.xdb there is another folder: E:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Corporation\CONNECT Player\Library\1 based on some actions i have taken (deleting imported songs in library, then importing new ones) i think that this folder named '1' is a backup of the library database, because the c2Library.xdb in this folder did not show the new songs that i imported after the complete deletion of songs in my library this folder appears to hold album art: E:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Corporation\CONNECT Player\Library\0 i found that for each song(with embedded album art) that i imported, there would be a corresponding file in this folder example, if i have 5 songs with album art, there will be 5 files in this 'b' folder the files just have a numeric filename like, 8545.338724 i figured that these were album art files by looking through the c2Library.xdb, which can be done with any XML-capable text editor. a snippet from the c2Library.xdb: artwork="E:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Corporation\CONNECT Player\Library/0//../b/520645.401898" artworkFormat="image/jpg" well that's what i have found so far, maybe this information could be useful to someone smarter! on a side note, i like the way it looks. the purple color that sony is using for their new stuff is really starting to grow on me.
  9. OMG! Sweeeeeeeet... Will this ever be released outside of Japan?
