  1. My MZ-R37 Minidisc recorder. Nice 6 years of remarkable performance . Still in use^^
  2. Just to make sure, you formatted it from the player's own controls? (initialize->format)?
  3. I bought Koss The Plug earphones, and combined with my NW-E002 they sound great, full bass and overall sound
  4. Sonic Stage 4.2 is the latest edition, try that one, maybe it will help.
  5. Shouldn't the latest firmware be 2.1 for nw-e00x series? Try using latest Sonic Stage version also.
  6. My next step is to get some sensitive in-ear buds, like Koss The Plug. But if this shorct circuiting the resistors actually works, you may soon be the most popular person around^^
  7. Let's just say that some songs play loud, some don't depending on the quality and original loudness of the mp3/wma/whatever. The volume slider goes up to 30, and if it went to 35 player would be great.Or at least 33. You just keep missing those couple of precious dB^^
  8. Thank you all, I'm gonna update my firmware now. Doubt there will be any difference in sound though I tried to download US and Asian firmware, but they seem to be identical as the European one Guess the only cure will be the service manual.
  9. Any news on this subject? Did the firmware update help?
  10. Thx for answering^^ My friend has these Sennheiser's so I'll try them and compare the loudness. I appreciate any feedback on other questions Thx
  11. First of all hi everybody, I've been lurking around for quite some time and finally decided to join this great community. Let me start with couple of questions Be patient please^^ Small intro first though: Long time ago I bought the legendary MZ-R37 MD unit, and was simply amazed by the quality of sound (very loud thingy) and construction of that little gadget (well, it was a "little gadget" back then ). I put my trust into Sony once again and recently bought an NW-E002 for a ridiculously (did I spell this right ) small price, and Sony amazed me yet again at first glance. Design is great, battery even better, and it's a very cool gadget to have around. But... it happens to be that I live in Europe (Croatia to be more precise) and my player subdues to this uber cool European loudness standard . Ergo, the thing is not loud enough for my years-of-drumming-tormented ears. I thought about replacing it, but felt bad for getting rid of this cool player I obviously under-payed. So, finally the question is: how can I get a bit louder sound? I use the headphones that came with the player, they sound ok but maybe I could get more with another model. Someone told me about Koss The Plug headphones (earbuds), anyone had an experience with those? Or simply recommend smth else. Nest couple of questions: How can I find out which firmware version my player has? And what do I get with new firmware versions? And, is it possible to update my player with a non-European firmware to squeeze out more juice? And finally, do European versions of NW-E00x players have different hardware than non-European versions, or is this volume deprivation just a matter of some software adjustment? Thank you very much for reading probably the longest post I've written in last 5 years. Cya!
