I have silimar problem with my MDS-JA333ES. Two years ago it had replaced laser because of C13 error. ( now I think it was not necessary) After laser exchange I didn't use it. But a month ago I started use it and C13 happend. Loading tray works normal no strange sounds. If I remove top cover and gently push down minidisc inside it starts working for about week. Then again C13 so I open top cover push minidisc and works fine. What could be the problem.? Loading tray seems to me ok but I could one more time disassembly it.

Only one? there are more releases, but I wanted that one.

I just bought new MD, and I like it. Would be nice to have own pritner and print on minidisc labels.
-
I would like to buy MD but it is sold out. Wonder what was the price. At the Discogs for 60E now...
-
I was missing this website too.

Check connectors which are accessible from the bottom, under loading tray. Once I forgot to put it back and symptoms were quite similar to your case.
-
I would check all connectors, flat wires if not broken.

Form MDS-JB980QS service manual. sony_mds-jb980 - service mode.pdf 1. While pressing the AMS knob and button, connect the power plug to the outlet, and release the AMS knob and button. When the test mode is set, “[Check]” will be displayed. 2. Rotate the AMS knob and when “[Service]” is displayed, press the YES button. 3. Rotate the AMS knob and display “Err Display”. 4. Pressing the YES button sets the error history mode and displays “op rec tm”. 5. Select the contents to be displayed or executed using the AMS knob. 6. Pressing the AMS knob will display or execute the contents selected. 7. Pressing the AMS knob another time returns to step 4. 8. Pressing the MENU/NO button displays “Err Display” and exits the error history mode. 9. To exit the test mode, press the REPEAT button. The unit sets into the STANDBY state, the disc is ejected, and the test mode ends.

No original box but with manual, remote control and MDS-JB980QS was in excellent condition (20h recording time, 120h playing time)
-
I sold it for 300E.
-
I think it is old enough to be vintage. BTW last weeek I sold my almost new JB980QS. Needed place for new ES stuff.
-
I bought one for music the rest were for parts, not my fault I managed to repair them. Now is all vintage, isn't it PhilippeC?

I have two MDS-JA333ES. I wanted to check what is recording and playing time. For both it shows one hour which is not true. For my all MDS-JA555ES it shows correct. Could anyone check how is it in the other MDS-JA333ES?

For labels I use AutoCAD
-
I printed it in 3D. Looks promising. It was printed using PETG filament. It works but a little bit too tight. I should do some changes to 3D solid.
-
I made 3D drawing of lever lock assy for 3D printing. (.stl file) Same is in MDS-JA333ES, MDS-JA555ES, MDS-JA20ES Lever lock assy Sony MDS-JA333ES.stl

Wonder if the price is reasonable for you? https://www.springair.de/de/sony-rm-lsa1c-fernbedienung/h60249

If you still looking for RM-D19M? https://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und-verkaufen/d/original-sony-rm-d19m-fernbedienung-remote-control-253744298/
-
In service manual to MDS-JA333ES is RM-D51M. To my MDS-JA333ES I have RM-D51M.
-
For MDS-JA333ES I think you should look for RM-D51M.
-
It is not too complicated to do this part on your own as I did? But first try to use glue and add some reinforcements on sides. It helped on my JA333ES. After using glue give it some time to rest.

I think I want be messing around with the encoder. I leave it as it is. In fact in all my mindiscs decks I hardly use ams knob.

I think someone wanted nice looking Hi-MD disc. I am not big fun of hi-md so if someone wants that bizzar TDK PRO I could exchange for ordianary one TDK PRO or for loading tray to MDS-JA333ES.
-
Inside one of TDK PRO case is Hi-MD plate , capacity 963.9MB so it is not 74 minutes as oridnary minidisc.
-
As far as I know only Sony produced Hi-Md discs not TDK.
