  1. Do what it says I suppose, but you could risk losing all of your music, but if you've got this backed up on your computer then that's alright. I think what it wants you to do is copy all of the files and folders from your NW-A3000 (there might be some hidden files and folders as well which will need to be copied also), initialise the player by going in to the menu on the player itself (can't remember if they call it initialise or format), then try updating the firmware again, and then move the files back across again and cross your fingers. Don't blame me if it all goes tits up though :/
  2. Try uninstalling Sonicstage, remove as much as you can and also go to (assuming your drive is C) C:\Documents and Settings\ and looking for any Sonicstage related stuff in here. There's some stuff in All Users and in your User folder, this'll be where database related files are stored. Sorry this isn't very specific but I don't have access to my Sonicstage installation right now. p.s. Remember to check the option to Show Hidden Files and Folders in Folder Options. And be careful in here.
  3. Yeah, that's quite annoying. It wouldn't be too difficult to implement an option that lets you choose this. Oh well.
  4. To answer your first question, I'm quite sure that's a no. There isn't anything in the options menu to suggest this. Though it is possible to play 'All songs' or use shuffle play of all the songs on your device of course.
  5. Been listening to this a lot lately: Squarepusher | Hello Everything at ATRAC3Plus 256Kbps 1. Hello Meow 2. Theme From Sprite 3. Bubble Life 4. Planetarium 5. Vacuum Garden 6. Circlewave 2 7. Cronecker King 8. Rotate Electrolyte 9. Welcome To Europe 10. Plotinus 11. Modern Bass Guitar 12. Orient Orange
  6. I'm watching, still no sign of Sonicstage 4.1
  7. Cheers, thanks for all the useful info. I ended up downloading dBPowerAmp and the FLAC plugin and converted it to WAV format.
  8. Are there any apps out there that'll let me convert FLAC to ATRAC3plus? It would be nice if the next version of Sonicstage has FLAC support.
  9. Do a search. I haven't checked this site in ages, and a new Sonicstage is announced , good timing.

    CDDB

I actually would quite like to help contribute to the CDDB, but I find it a little difficult via Sonicstage. It's difficult to modify CDDB entries and send them back again, you just have to send another one and you get duplicate entries, the CDDB is full of errors and spelling mistakes and it's a shame it's so difficult to correct them. It would also be nice to easily be able to contribute your own CD cover images, there's no way to upload these to the CDDB.
  11. I've also had this problem. I reckon reinitialising and transferring could fix that, I did that and didn't have a track-skipping problem since.
  12. Yes I am mental , it's crashed before without being soaked with water, therefore it could be a coincidence that it crashed on me, it still works btw, just had a little glitch that's all.
  13. 0.1742 secs Apparently you're at your most alert in the mornings.
  14. Cheap, and no copyright restrictions either. But you might as well find a torrent or something if you want to obtain music illegally. I've downloaded quite a lot of music from Bleep.com, just because I can't be arsed with all the extra hassle of copyright restrictions, I should be able to do whatever I want with my downloaded music.
  15. Apparently this is less of a problem with modern rechargeables, but I still try and drain the battery when I can anyway.
