Good to see you again. 4.3 is pretty much the most stable and latest version of SS for Hi-MD. There was a 4.4 but this was Japanese language only and 5.x again Japanese only and not compatible with MD. Avrin extracted the more stable OpenMG module from these later versions and retro-applied it to SS4.3 to come up with an "Ultimate Version" you might want to check out - see here for details: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...mp;#entry141995 * Topic Moved to Software Discussion Section

Yes, thanks - your discs arrived very quickly if I recall. - I've got the postcards on the noticeboard next to the desk.

You can edit the date and time in the properties of the album or on the individual track (right-click => Properties) in Sonic Stage and it will transfer to the unit (NH1, RH1, etc..).

Like Bob I also (finally) picked up an RH1 this week. I bought it locally here in London in the end as the price worked out about the same if not cheaper than importing from MDC. Also bought a 10 pack of Maxell Couler, 10 pack of TDK Clef and 10 Maxell Plain style discs.

There a quite a few threads analyzing results of various bitrates, but as many will point out - it's all subjective etc... But purely from a listing point of view the usable (on MD) rates I am aware of are (in descending order) PCM Atrac3+ 352k SP (292k) Hi-SP (256k) Atrac 3+ 192k LP2 (132k) LP3 (105k) LP4 (66k) Hi-LP (64k) Atrac3+ 48k Although some would argue Hi-LP sounds better than LP4 etc...

Is that a new album from Yello Bob? I was quite a fan back in the day but sort of lost track of them after 'Baby'.

The NH1 uses the same power supply worldwide (6V) - but you are correct in that the native charger on the NH1 is not 100-240V like some models. Although an equivalent charger from another 6V model or an Sony Travel 6V charger works fine. I actually imported my NH1 from Australia but have never used its original charger. I just use the one from the DH10P or sometimes the one from the EH1.

Congrats Bob - Let me know how the experience goes - I am seriously considering picking up an RH1 from MDC myself.

I have put both Benoit and Heavtank in touch - I have PM'd both - received replies from both and hopefully this can be resolved soon. I will offer to mediate if needs be, but if this can't be sorted soon then please let me know and I will see what I can do.

Both Chris and Stan are at CES as we speak and I have no doubt they will be updating the site asap with some quality first hand information on the X-Series. I didn't want to jump the gun and and post anything generic before they did (apart from which I am up to my neck in exams for my masters degree). Incidentally the Sony Europe press release mentions a spring release not summer for the X-series.
