No, atrac is the reason i bought the nw-a808 in the first place, so naturally i'm a bit concerned. Don't want sony to replace it with a non atrac device.

what happens if my nw-a808 dies, will sony replace it with a newer non-atrac model?

Sent My NW-A3000 in for repair today, the hd started making clicking noises, and sometimes the player would just freeze. This happened after only one months use.

All sony's have gapless playback on atrac files, this is the only reason why I bought the NW-A3000, but I still miss the superior on the fly playlist and equalizer from my Rio Karma.

it has nothing to do with the music files, the noise is part of the design. Every sony dap that i've heard has this very faint noise including minidisc units.

There is a noticeable hiss during playback. The noise depends on the sensitivity of your headphones.

I have the same problem, but it seems to be random.. sometimes normal playback works and the player stops at the end of an album as it should, but other times it just loops the album. To Ascariss: Gapless playback works fine on my nw-a3000.

Did you disable the floppy in your pc's bios? I don't have a floppy drive in my system and connect has never given any errors regarding floppy access

Ok the problem is still there, it seems that 'normal' mode is broken for recently transfered music, I just added a new album to the player and it still loops. Here's what I've found so far: Add a new album/track via connect and the the player will disregard 'normal' mode and behave as 'repeat' mode on the newly added tracks/album. Add another album/track via connect and the previous added tracks will work with 'normal'mode... Looks like I found another player/connect issue.

I am using the 2.01 firmware, and it does the same thing. Should I redo the firmware upgrade? Update: Just did a reset and it works now

'Normal' mode doesn't seem to work on my player, it does the same as 'repeat' mode. After last track, the playback automatically continues from first track on the current playlist. Can anyone else test this on their NW-A3000 european model?
