i remember reading in MiniDiscT Forums.. that some guy said clearly "DO NOT DO THAT!" and he was referring to using isopropyl alcohol and cleaning the lens... he tried it on his N1 and it f@#ked it up completely... so i say... try it at ur own risk...

have u tried reading the manual... (btw, i'm not trying to be sarcastic)

This was taken from '11/21: Wild MZ-R700/R500 Hack' but i put it onto a new topic because it will be easier to find i'm not sure if this works... try it at ur own risk i suppose... mainly because i dont have a N707 to try it out on...

majestic.. i dont know if u realised that.. but i already stated that exact info... the only thing u added was the blue reflective plastic... but anyway... hmmm

i'm sorry.. but i gotta say... my street style headphones with an inline volume control actually do increase the volume... i'm not sure how/why... i think its coz the headphones are naturally loud... but yeah... if they wanna say i'm wrong.. well then.. pfft. whatever...
-
well.. the easiest thing i can suggest is to: 1. download the file from this website... 2. then use whatever music player u use to play the song 3. put in an analog/digital cable into ur sound card.. depending on which one u have 4. at the same time u play the song.. press record on ur md player... SIMPLE...

sorry to say but Gary is right... the sony photo's use 'creative' photography which shows the N1 main display to have a backlight... but as we all know.. thats not true.. the S1 is the only sony to have a backlit main window... also... the MZR-900/909 photo also shows that the remote has a blue backlight.. but in real life its aqua... well.. due to creative photography again...

well.. generally the sony fontopia headphones that come standard are SHIT! (pardon my language, but i feel strongly about this subject) if ur after some other headphones that are good.. but still want to INCREASE ur volume... try a 'Street Style' with a built in volume control.. i have them.. and they go really, really, really, loud... but i dont suggest putting them on ur ears then... lol but yeah.. generally headphones/earphones with a built in volume control are the best bet for increasing ur volume... good luck...

Yes, the baclkight works even when running it on the MZR-700, if you get a MZR-55 or an MZR-90 remote u cannot use any of these features bacause they were added in to the new series... so therefore... the extra buttons wouldn't be on the remote... -

sorry michael.. there is no way to do it, because the R-700 doesnt have a screen on the remote.. and to access the speed up, bass and treble, and other feaures like that u need an R-900 remote (RM-MC11EL)... i picked mine up for $196AUD... obviously in australia so.. ur best bet is to find a remote.. u could try something like e-bay... -
sorry.. i was mistaken... mystyler is right.. thanks for clearing that up...

my friend has a Panasonic SJ-MR250, the remote is really cool(can see through the LCD when in 'HOLD' mode), and it has a nifty pressure-sensitive pad, which allows you to scroll through very easily... the only downside is that if i record an MD for him in LP he cannot play it... mainly because the SJ-MR250 is not an MDLP it is only capable of normal play... so, if u dont mind not having LP then i would say that the MR250 is a good one.. it WAS the smallEST and lightEST player in 2000, so it is VERY small

yeah.. thats the thing.. i have a R-900 remote.. in australia it cost me $196 so... thats how i changed the bass and treble... but because you have an R-500 and that has no remote jack.. well.. then half of the features are useless... -

Csidinim, M-Timer is a timer that you can set from 1 minute to 99 minutes and there are 3 different melodies to choose from... Melody 1 = Classical 1 Melody 2 = Classical 2 Melody 3 = Beep yeah.. on my 700 there is a function called 'BEEP' - it creates a beep sound whenever you do something either on the remote or on the main player... but while paused it continuolsy beeps... so i turned it off because of the annoyances... SOUND1 and SOUND2 are Bass&Treble presets that you can choose from... so its more advanced than just Bass1 and Bass2 Bass and Treble adjustments are in 8step... thus giving you more precision over fine tuning ur listening... -

it might be because you have an R-500 because it works fine on my R-700 but i also have the R-900 remote... the RM-MC11EL, its quite easy to find.. but it cost me $196AUD -

I did this hack on my R-700... and all i can say is... DO IT!!! it upgrades everything.. and it is worth it... the sound is better.. and you have more control over it... (bass and treble) the speed up and slow down feature is WHACK!! and the melody timer.. well... it saved me from missing my stop on the train... anyway.. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!
