I got the same battery with the wrong connector, it also came with the wrong tool for unscrewing the cover. Luckily I had the correct driver and a soldering Iron. I cut the wires from the old battery and soldered them to the new one and it all works fine now
-
I've had this happen to me a couple of time on my a3000, in both cases it fixed itself after a few days

It sounds more like a threat to me ;-)

It's a bit of a cheek calling them walkmans when you can only use them when walking indoors The only other option is to do your walking at night, which around here would almost certainly involve being mugged.......Hmmmm I see a law suit coming on

are your tracks Mp3 ?, you might want to check this out: http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net
-
Your not the only one!, see http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2881 I never found a solution, let me know if you do
-
have checked this and it looks fine, this was fine in connect (one of the few things that worked) I'm really screwed now, I re-installed connect to try and get this functionality back and when I click on Import folder in connect it just exits, no error message. A year ago I would have been annoyed, now I think, that's Sony for you...

I've finally switched to sscp from connect, now when I browse the mp3's by artist on my a3000 they all appear under etc instead of under the Letter search, it makes it harder to find the artist I'm looking for (my 1 atrac album appears in the correct list. yes I've re-initialiased the player etc.. sscp shows the artists correctly, what gives ?

The Best Function that should be included in the next version is the "work properly" function !!!

The nwa series uses the SCF5250 ColdFire Processor. If you download the nw-a1000 service manual from this site you can get the full schematics. good luck

Re-formatting does not fix this, how could they miss such an obvious fault

After my upgrade to sscp 4 all tracks I transfered to my a3000 where listed under etc in the Artist list and all my mp3's in SS had no tag info, ie no track order, track name etc.. The firmware is definitely slower, the "see you later" display when it shuts down stutters now, not the smooth fade in it was before, other stuff is slower too. I use the shuffle all feature a lot and it can take up to a minute to start playing now after I select this ( was only about 20 secs with the easlier firmware, however the tracks are more random so that's one good thing.

I've just noticed something strange, none of my mp3s show any of their tag info correctly in sscp. When I look into an album the Title is the mp3 filename, the artist, length Genre, album and year are all blank. I don't want to use that stupid gracenote rubbish all my mp3 are properly tagged. I spent ages fixing them after connect screwed them all up (I now have them on an NTFS partition with only Read access when any sony software is running) What have we ever done to Sony to make them hate us so much that they torment us with such crappy software. Ohh well back to using the now discontinued connect

You mean firmware?, No it doesn't reset it

It seems like a catch 22, to keep it scratch free you need to put it in a cover so you can't see it so it doesn't matter is it's scratched or not. If you want to have it on display then it gets scratched and you can see it ;-). The scratches aren't too bad at the moment, a couple of them are noticeable but are not in front of the display. I don't fancy using a polish on it, unless anyone has done so with success ? I think I will write to sony and ask them why they don't supply spare covers. It would be good if they came in packs of 3 so you could have some spares just in case....
