  1. I'm rather frustrated right now. Not that it matters anyway, but I really enjoy/enjoyed the MD/Hi-MD format. I loved the flexibility it offered, not to mention the sound quality. I'm frustrated because Sony doesn't TRULY understand why they failed with minidisc. How is that I (a lowly business owner) can see what Sony did, and they can't?? :::EDIT::: I'm in full agreement with garcou. If I knew a petition would work, I'd sign one (and get all of my friends and relatives who I converted to MD) in a hot newyork minute. If they do indeed eliminate the md format, I will not buy anything from Sony Electronics. No HD whatever, no PSP, no PS3, no Sony phone; nothing I"m also aware my little boycott really won't do anything, but I can't (with any personal integrity) support a company that doesn't see what it really has regarding Hi-MD. The MD/Hi-MD format is NOT in the same category as flash-based players or hard-drive based players. It's in its own league.
  2. So Sony's heavy into HD, phones, ps3, and the psp....and md's looking bleak..... *sigh*
  3. Is there any way you can offer some insight Kurisu??
  4. I didn't hear anything directly about MD/Hi-MD. Did anyone else??
  5. Is it me or did they not say anything about md??
  6. I hate this waiting...... I hate the fact that it's FRIDAY when we get this announcment too
  7. I'm going to be much closer (as well as on the floor) this year. I'm tempted on recording one of my shows with two different recorders and the two different mics. Come to think of it, I have access to another nh1 too. I just may do that......
  8. With all the different people saying MD was on its way out, I never really gave it much credibility since somebody's ALWAYS saying MD is dead. When I hear news like this from you, I know it's not a good day. I just hope they choose to revitalize MD/Hi-MD
  9. I had read alot about the quality of cardioid mics over binaurals so I invested in some SP CMC-8's and have been very happy with my recordings. My recordings have been business meetings, Ministry, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Shark Tale (at the movie theater). After reading about the high preference of binaurals OVER the cardioids that I had to get some bmc-12's to hear the difference (if there is any). In a matter of weeks, I'm going to be in the pit seeing Dolly Parton and on the first half of the floor for Depeche Mode as well as Trans Siberian orch. I hope the binaurals are adaptable and forginving to the different concert placements I'll be at
  10. i'm loving my nh1!! The only issue is the lack of an external battery pack, but that can be remedied
  11. I'm looking to get this unit with all accessories (mickey pouch and all). If you have one in good condition and interested in selling it let me know! thanks Santiago EDIT:: for feedback click here and here too
  12. I purchased the nh1 from peon, and the transaction was smooth and communication was very good. Shipping was unbelievably fast as well. While I haven't had a chance to test it out, I'm sure it plays beautifully! Great seller! Santiago
  13. A remote with a record button manual recording levels left intact after stop button is pressed/unit turned off legacy md formats brought back drag n drop capabilities 2gig discs for pcm recording opt. out/line out hd amp
  14. I personally found the entire thread pretty informative. While it did go back and forth on some (imo) offtopic issues, the overall thread/review was throrough. I actually didn't think the HD3 was that good. After this thread tho', I'm seriously thinking investing in one. I'm going to do some searches on how it sounds amped as well.
  15. NOW i remember what i wanted to say. With the native mp3 option, it's going to be really interesting to see what format people are going to use (moreso for those who rip to mp3 format from CD, and not mp3s they didn't get from a CD)
  16. good thread; you're right about a long read! I see what you're saying about drm too. I think in terms of eliminating the whole transcoding issue, the drm thing is pretty minimal. I wish they would've done this earlier.
  17. I appreciate the link!! I was at Head-Fi already too...
  18. how do they actually wrap the mp3's in drm?? How restrictive is this too, do you know?
