I had the same problem..in other threads they say that you must use steps in the NetMD faq to uninstall the software and then reinstall. I just uninstalled from Control Panel and reinstalled and it worked for me...I had to reboot my computer though.

Given the apparent success of small devices that capture video to limited sd/memory stick cards I should think that a device that had maybe the same video quality (maybe even more) but more space to record to, should be very impressive, don't you think?

Well I think Minidisc SHOULD be a storage medium it shoul completely replace what floppies did in their time..it should also replace memory sticks and all memory cards...why? $$$ Also MD could replace cassette. I've always mentioned that Minidisc could be used in a lot of different applications like a MD drive on laptops, a MD drive on a camera (no more flash media :cool: ), MD car player, home MD stereo. The whole line of applications one could use would be satisfied by MD. It's the complete merge of CD and cassette.

I'm going to be in the US the next week...do you think i'll make it to get one??

Not to mention it's ability to become a media for usage with other devices as cameras (with cheap storage of 1gb) and as a replacent for floppy disks (no more flashdrives :laugh: )!!!

Hey crazeybt1: I've used rechargeable since the original MD's !!! The 2100mah NiMH should work just fine. I like to use devices that work with AA-like bateries because actually I have a lot of rechargeable's. So I would recommendo that to you too. Speaking of battery life well I don't know actually how much time a NiMH will last but at least what i've heard is that it will give more life than a standard alkaline...but who cares how much life..I mean...you can just recharge it...ther are some 1 hour even 15 minute rechargers so stop wasting $$$ in alkalines and get yourself some rechargeable's :smile:

Wow...now what???? I don't like to buy a new device every time...just want to stick with one and thats that. Do you guys really think this will happend in the time said?

Ok. Now how about the quality... I mean you guys that may have more experience...do you know if Atrac3plus@64 has audible artifacts just like Atrac3@66 has?

I really liked NetMD Atrac3@132. So if what SONY tells in their comparison chart (that Atrac3plus@64 will sound like Atrac3@132) is true that would be great. Now by what a lot of you guys have been saying that's not quite true. However I wonder if the HD dig. amp. present in the 900 will help Actrac3plus@64 be heard good enough??? For me good enough means no easily heard artifacts.

I agree with PDOG58 in that Sony should release a full series of devices because minidisc should be seen as a media not an "mp3" kinda' player so it could replace cassette media. In that case for example you could record music and hear it in you car or your computer (in case a computer had minidisc drive just like when every computer had a floppy drive). Then if you went to a field trip you could take your minidisc boombox and hear those same melodies. Even you could have a minidisc camera where you could copy your photos just like the floppy disk mavica but with much more space. That would be a major breakthrough for minidisc because it would be widely accepted just because THERE IS NOTHING IN THE MARKET that does the same thing for the same price!!!!!! What do you guys think???

You could use Real Player 10 as it can now read AAC files compatible with iTunes AAC and will let you transfer your songs to the NetMD with the Device Plug-in. Haven't tested it yet but I suppose it should work the same as it does with mp3 files.

Also....any limit on the total number of characters for titling???? like in the Net-MD.

Actually i've seen a lot of "out of stock" announcements in some eqquipment. Maybe sellers are getting rid of them??

What about car units?? Do you think the first units will be over the $360 region?

Also some mini hi-fi components, boomboxes, car stereos wouldn't hurt. :cool:

Certainly to make use of MD as a general-usage media will expand it to be used to other devices than music.(Like a photo camera, even a video camera using compression technology) Imagine that just like CD you could take you MD's to wherever you wanted and everywhere you went there were MD eqquipmet to play music ,store files, watch videos etc. thanks to the fact that its a standard media. But this media is much better than CD becuase of it's file-system filing properties...the possibilities of it use are huge!!! This I wish to see!!! :smile:
