i went into my local sonystore inquiring about a record player a while ago, as i had seen one in there a few weeks before that. i asked the 'assistant' did they have any and he told me, 'no, no, sony dont make record players anymore". on the way out, i spotted the same record player as a few weeks ago, and another look to confirm it was a record player and not a bloody microwave or something. more recently i read in the paper that sony make one of the nicest record players in the business. idiot! is stupidity a pre-requisite for a job with sony? they really dont want to sell their stuff.

hi, i uninstalled sonicstage recently because it wasnt recognising my hi-md. i followed the instructions here and deleted all the sony related folders, etc. then i reinstalled sonicstage, and oops my music was gone. i found it in the recycle bin and restored it, but its now telling me that i dont have the rights to this music and would i like to download the liscence. can anyone help? and before you ask, yes i am stupid enough not to have backed up my music. thanks

anyone know if there is a plugin to use audioscrobbler with sonicstage? the site mentions most other players but no sign of sonicstage. is it even possible to make one for sonicstage? www.audioscrobbler.com thanks

Hi any ideas why i cant connect to the gracenote cddb database? using sonicstage 3.0 i downloaded from the .rar file that was linked to the site. when i first fired it up after instalation sonicstage hung during the setup when it was going to scan my computer for playable files so i had to skip that stage. When i ask it to get the details of a cd, it tells me to register with gracenote and when i click yes, nothing happens. any ideas? thanks.

sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there a way to do group/album shuffle on my 700? i mean so it just randomly chooses the next group/album to play. i cant see it anywhere, thanks.

take the batteries out and put them back in and then reconnect it. i think its the same problem i had which was solved by doing this.

could just be the earphones? i had similar problems but i think it was just because of a dodgy set of phones

copy the simple burner software onto a minidisc by USB, connect the md player to another computer, install the software off the MD, and copy music off that computer? just got a nice blue 700.

yeah i did this a while ago but none of the new features seemed to be any use, probably havent played with it enough yet. but anyway, when doing it i managed to change all the letters to name the tracks to jappaneese or something. how do i reset the unit? im sure its there somewhere but 15 pages is a lot of reading. thanks. so im transferring my cds to 256kbs atrac3plus into sonicstage. will i later be able to record them onto hi-md at a lower bitrate, or will i have to rerip them to my computer at the lower bitrate. and how many minutes will i get on a 1gig disk at 256kbs atrac3plus. Thanks again.

ok, so im transferring my music collection into atrac3plus so i can use it with my hi-md (if they ever come). will i have to change it into the older atrac3 to record 'net-mds' for use on my old mzr-500 (which ive managed to flog to my mother) thanks.

the 700 i reckon. cant afford a 900 and i like the idea of the rechargable AA that the 600 doesnt have.

any word about the europe release date? specificily the mznh700? cheers

went into a sony centre in ireland and the guy said they would be available in may. he also quoted me €299 for the lowest spec model (mz-nh600). whats that about?
