  1. The other "problem" is that I don't have an internet connection on the SS PC. Can anyone do this reporting for me ? Tell me what info do Sony need and I will tell you. Thanks.
  2. Problem in the problem is that my two drives : CRW-F1 (Yamaha) and SOHD167T (Lite-On) have the same issue with Sony softs. Moreover I have some cue audio CD images (with CD-Text) and when mounting them with Daemon Tools the image drive produced does have the same Sony-related cd text problem
  3. Infact the majority of my CD collection is made from CD-Text CDs. And they all worked perfectly with CDex, EAC, Nero, my decks, .... That's why I do not understand why SS3 and SB2 does not retrieve the CD-Text infos.
  4. I see an option in SS3 to get CD-text info from CD, but I try with different CDs and It never find any title. Same problem with SB. How do you make this in order to work ZerodB ?
  5. Sounds interesting... We will have to track this file to know upcoming of new units (why not a deck) ?
  6. And now we know why they change from "N" to "R" names : no backward compatiblity with old MD stuff. I wasn'tso wrong...
  7. What a news, Sharp decided to leave the portable music market with MD and will came back with Flash and HDD walkmans, according to this news : http://www.01net.com/article/243375.html (sorry it is in French, but you can translate it with altavista for example). No words about Hi-MD... What is happening here? Will Sony be alone to sell its format? Will Sharp came back with Hi-MD? Will they also leave other European or American markets?
  8. I think he refers to the fact that in PC to Hi-MD donwload, PCM is converted to Atrac and reconverted to PCM by the unit (as previously for SP with Net MD).
  9. Nice news MDfreak!!! and welcome in mart! Normally they will be available soon (600 and 800).
  10. I was saying about dlb's test that : - he give you the samples (download), - you blind-listen, - you give him back the ABX result file, - he give you which extract is which format U do the test, you do not read his commentary, you are the actor not the spectator! :wacky:
  11. >>anont I think you do not understand what I said. Those tests are independant from Sony. Sony do not tell dlb to make a test as ITS tests... Samples have randomly been chosen. Moreover, for a better egality between codecs bitrates used are the same. Just take a look, you will understand what I mean.
  12. A french guy of MDfr has made an ABX blind test between Atrac3+256, wav, aac, mpc, ... if u wanna try it out search links on the newspage of minidisc.org (his "surname" is dlb, and is name is like david pierson or something like that). Don't worry he has made an english version!
  13. I think Sony coudn't have decided to release a new kind of format like Hi-MD without do any works in decks or stereo components. If their aim is to a standard with Hi-MD, then we well soon see a complete range of products : portable, stereo, decks, in-car, ... Moreover, now you can do lossless recordings, and it is pretty cooler for home high end recorders. If not they are not going to do a music hit with Hi-MD!
  14. Yes, by link I was meaning, web pages. I think I will try mechanical translation for those infos. Those 2 class d amplifiers all makes a sampling rate conversion (internal, but, 2.8Mhz and 768khz) and Sony S-Master solution additions a noise shapper (as far as I know). When you were talking about as the HD was an Auvi, I was thinking about the reason for Sony to integrate the "Auvi solution" in their range. Why did they not work on a "S-Master portable" chip? I couldn't understand why they use Sharp tech when they have an other product. Infact I think you were saying that HD was an sort of Auvi, not that Sony use Auvi, sorry for this mistake.
  15. First, sorry if this question have ever been answered, but : have you got any links for the Sony HD amp or what are your sources? In your first reply do you want to say that the HDamp is like the first generation of Auvi (2.855Mhz re-engeening sound) and the new Sharp and kenwood features the new 5.6Mhz? I'm a little surprised (quite astonished) that Sony do not use an "portable version" of the S-Master or S-Master Pro. To my mind the S-Master and the Auvi systems are very different, so why do they own an other technology? Problems of consumtion?
