  1. Thank you. To show how MD can help a (hobbist) musician and the audio quality one can expect, I've uploaded a recording of myself and a friend of mine, playing together a violin duet - Mazas Op. 38 No. 1 - 1st movement. It was recorded during a practice session with my MZ-NH1 (in Hi-SP mode). We used two Sennheiser e 835 mics and a LEM mixer. The mics were at about 40 cm from each violin, pointing to the strings. We were about 2.50 meters apart one from the other, facing one the other. The line out from the mixer went into the line in of the MD recorder. I used manual recording volume - I set it to 22, but this value of course depends also on the mixer settings. A440, thank you and please delete my mp3 if you need to free space in your briefcase. EDIT: Oooops... I posted this before I could see that you posted your last message. My mp3 was uploaded in the briefcase of your first post. Should I transfer it to the new location?
  2. Ooops... sorry, didn't understand that. I've listened to the first mp3. Really good quality and clear sound (and cool piece). There is a bit of "boxed sound" effect, but that is obviously due to the ambient - on the other hand, it exactly gives the feeling of being there and live listening to the music.
  3. I get a "The folder is currently empty" message.
  4. Thank you for the battery-life experiment averroes! I wonder if anybody has ever been able to get the 18 hours in Hi-LP mode that Sony claims for continuos playing. However, as posted above, playing all the 18 hours until the battery is completely drained seems to be not good for the Li-ION battery.
  5. You're welcome. You may want to check also this link http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo-34.htm
  6. Interesting review. Thanks for posting it. That would mean 35 hours! Are you sure? It sounds like much more than Sony's specs for this model. I own a MZ-NH1 as well, and I'm not experiencing such long times without having to recharge, just about 10 hours (my average use also includes a lot of mic recordings). Moreover, I don't drain all the battery power before recharging, as I've read somewhere that Li-ION batteries don't like that very much.
  7. Hmmm... maybe slightly off-topic, but I own a NH1 and I can't see any optical out in it, just the optical in.
  8. Thank you dex for your explanation. It is odd that those tracks in the MD appear as they could be transferred to the "original PC" while they are not. It's also a shame that no warning message is displayed before track deletion. This fact makes a frightening operation to transfer tracks recorded via mic/analog in from the MD to the PC.
  9. Hello everybody, I'm a fresh owner of a MZ-NH1 and new to the forum. I've made a few experiments with SS (version 2.1, european edition, the latest one as far as I know), and I found something that sounds odd to me. I've looked for that in the forum, but I didn't find a post on this. Here is what happens. I've copied a mp3 file from a CD to my PC hard disk. Then, I've imported the mp3 file into SS and downloaded it into the MZ-NH1. All went fine. Within SS, if I right click on the track in the Hi-MD window (under transfers), I read that the track can be transferred to the "original PC" only (I think this is what would be in english, as my version of SS is in italian). After, I've deleted the mp3 file from the hard disk (even though the oddity happens also when not deleting it). Since this *is* the "original PC", I've uploaded the same track from the MZ-NH1 to the PC... but... SS just deletes it on the MD and does not upload it at all. The same happens for any track ripped off an audio CD to the hard disk and then uploaded in the same way to the MD. Is this normal or is a bug? Why SS tells me that I can upload the track to the original PC (mine) if it does not and kills the track on the MD? Thank you for your help. EDIT: to the Administrators and Moderators - sorry, after reading more within the forum, I think that a better place for my post would be the "NetMD/MDLP-unit discussion". Could you please move it? Thank you.
