Try using line in Manuel Vol. set to somethig like 20/30 or even 25/30 for talk or accu. sets. The Sonic Stage has worked fine for me at times this has happened.

I am now using the MM-HLSO-MICRO(20-20000 Hz) "Sennheiser Driven" mke line Omni mics, into a sound-pro SPSB-6 battery then to my MZ-NH900 MD. I mount the mics in my glasses holders (Croakies)run the cables througn a small hole in my shirt pocket and tie the wires in a nice bundle, with a twisty tie, at my midsection. With the MD in my shirt pocket I can get at very easy to start recording. With so many cell phone around these days, if any sees you messing with the MD they assume your just checking you phone. I try and respect everyones right to enjoy the show, drawing attention to yourself and getting kicked out or causing a disturbence is not 'Cool". KooterB

Thanks GM, I'll work with this some more. I personally like the 'as is' headphone sound of a BINURAL recording, but sometimes like to listen to my recording on my home stereo and car. I am always looking for a way to tweak the sound some. Thanks for your time, Fred J. aka KooterB

I'd like to know just what I need to do a SBD patch, in case I get the chance. I have a MZ_NH900 MD. Cables, plugs and whatever else? Line in or mic in with manuel vol set? Thanks for your time, KooterB

So what you are saying is that I can use the 9v battery to help bring my mics' up to their full optimal performance using the Mic-In with no harm to the mics or the MD? I want the mic's to reach their best performance and have the benefit of the manuel Vol control. Thanks for everyone's time, KooterB

My thoughts were to set mic sens to low, go battery box Mic-in and set the Vol at about 15/30 fopr my Core LC Bi's, my undertstanding is these mics can handle power up to 12v, so the 9v plus the 1.5 or whever form the MD shoud bring a mics up to about it's max ability. Lowering the Manuel Vol to 15 or say 12 should cut clipping, just my random thoughts, tho. Thanks for all the input, I am one step closer to that perfect live recording, Thanks

My 2 cents, having used both of the Core Low Cost Bi's and the Cards is the Bi's sound fantastic with headphones and car, but not as great on my living room sound system. The Cards have a really more defined sound on my living room set. The Cards seem to preform best when you can get them pointed right at the speakers as the Bi's hear what you hear. I'm using a MZ-NH900 with a Sound pro battery.

Just wondering if there is a advantage, or harm, to using a 9v battery box in the Mic-in jack, and then setting the Vol. manuely. Would this harm my MZ-NH900 MD or my mics Core LC Cards? While using the Line-in with the battery box is great, at some shows the sound level may drop to low and the MZ-NH900 starts to add track marks, very annoying. I don't know of a way to shut this off? Thanks for any and all input, KooterB

When using a battery box for a Line in recording the AGC is disabled as well as mic sens. With line in you won't need either anyway. Line in, with a power box, can handle most real loud music, but with Sony MDs if the level drops to low for 2 seconds, it will add a track mark and start a new track. Location is everything, too.

Try this for extreem stealth: Get a light weight sling, like for a broken arm, wrap your arm in a ace bandage with the mics under the ace bandage. If they ask tell them you got burned real bad. Crotch the MD recorder and battery pak. Fore extra protection ware a pair of Depends adult diapers with safty pins. if the pat you down and feel the Depends tell them your some time have bladder accidents, not many will go any futher. Once in go to the bathroom room toilet stall and put the MD in your shirt pocket on the sid e with the sling and the battery pak tucked in the sling attached to the mic. Have a small hole cut in the sling and in in your shirt pocket, run the mic plug thro the holes and into the MD. Finding a good place to clip the mics can be tricky, if you are some what in the open mount one up on the hand end of the sling and the other at the elbo end. Since your arm is"hurt" you won't be expected to move it much just try to keep the mics in the open some what and don't move your arm. If the sling is one of those this light mesh king you can clip the mics to the ace banadge inside the sling, poined towards the sound, where they will be hidden. This is just the basic idea you can modfiy it to your liken. Also I'm working on a neck brace with the mics mounted in it and the MD hidden inside too. Crazy like a Fox, right. HhehehehHa

Try Core Sound Low cost Cards' and Bi's. for $75 they will do the job. http://www.core-sound.com/ Here is a sample of my recording using Cors Low Cost Bi's with the NH900 set to mic in AGC to loud and mic to sens. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?act=m..._album&album=44 I have some Core Low Cost Cards coming , and will be using them next week at the Pensacola Spring Fest. Good luck, KooterB

Hi, my question is which is the best way to clear a HI-MD or any MD disc? Should I erase the recording first then format or does it matter? I do not transfer any music from my computer, all I use is for live recordings. Thanks for your time, KooterB

I just recorded a Black Crowes show with my MZ-NH900 set in Hi-SP mode and had about a 2 second drop out, toward the end of the show. I am fairly sure I didn't bumb it during the show and when I saved the data I held it very still until in finished. This has not happend before and I have handled the MD at some other shows and had no problem. One other thing Sonic Stage will not transfer the show, I have transfered other shows with no problem. Ant thought? KooterB
