  1. I love using the 40ELK with the rh10. The main reason is you don't need to take the md out of your pocket to check levels, divide tracks, etc. To get the lcd on just slightly move the jog wheel on the remote...it wont change your levels. Plus if you happen to be seated near security, it's much less obvious your taping the show.
  2. How in the hell can you switch from pcm recording to hi-sp? I recorded a show for 1 hour 20 minutes...I wanted to switch during the encore to hi-sp. i hit stop and it wrote to disc. I then hit record pause like always and then went to the rec. options and when i hit hi-sp it says cannot set...I really wanted to like this product but damn sharp md's are 1000 x better than sony md's. HIMD is all sony has going for it.....majorly un userfriendly
  3. Thanks for the advice....I'm taping tonight in a mid size indoor venue(7,000 seats) I'm very close to the stage 14 rows back to the right...the venue I'm taping at (Universal Amitheatre) is extremly loud. I thing I'll st up at 95Hz.
  4. Just so i get it straight..The higher the number the less bassy my recordings will be? I'll be sittting very close to the stage at a very loud indoor venue.
  5. I'll have to disagree with this method at least for taping in US venues. Many of the shows I attend...(hard rock, punk, metal) security has you empty your pockets and then they search you. That's why gear must be croutched. I wear a pair of tightie whities over my boxer shorts. I put my gear in a zippered leather bag and posistion between the boxers and the tightie whities. I usually wear baggy jeans held up with a metal studded belt. This way the gear is not obviously bulging out and if there are metal detectors or wands, they think this is why the detectors went off. Hope this helps.
  6. I'll be recording a show this Sunday (System Of a down) It's at a very loud indoor venue. Any tips on what level my bass roll off should be. 69Hz ,95Hz??
  7. No...Unless you set the mics on top of your recorder at a very quiet show...I place my mics in my hat..the higher up the better
  8. I'll post a sample of the system of a down show I'm recording this Sunday
  9. I'll be taping my first show a week from Sunday with my rh10 (Sysyem of a down) at the universal Ampitheatre(very loud indoor venue) All my previous shows have came out awesome with my old sharp 480h md recorder. One question I have is should I let the levels get as close to the max w/o going over? This is what gave me great results with my sharp unit. I use it with my sp battery box w/ bass rolloff at 69...using line in. Also what would a good starting line level be? I'm guesiing 15-20. Thanks
  10. I'd recommend a Sp battery box w/ bass roll off. I've recorded 100's of shows never having a problem. Usually hard rock or punk bands.

  12. My remote came today and it works great with the rh10. Only problem I can tell is you can't get into the recording menu with it. All the other menus seem to work with it though.
  13. I ordered this remote to check recording levels during live recording...could you verify the remote works for this...Thanks
  14. Can antyone confirm that the Sony RM-MC40ELK remote works with the rh-10? Thanks
